Hmmm.... not sure if there's a Kareoke place or not. We can all use a good drunken tourist's rendition of " My Heart will Go On" & "Born to Be Wild" ....

there is one kareoky place in front of the Mambo Cafe.. at least I was tricked into going inside.. but turned around and went to Mambo.. There was no one there and I really doubt they are still up and running.. This was in Nov 2005

What was that? Sorry, thought the question was what does Myrtle Beach SC have that Playa never, ever, ever needs.
So true. I went once in 1999. Never will go back. Ever. Not even if someone paid for me. If i was offered money I'd cash out and put it toward a PDC trip.

I'd like to see posts with hooks on the beach to hang hammocks.

Bluespicker, you may have to pm me before you come, so I can invite you to trade books during your visit ... please?

I gotta have about 100 titles at the house, mostly in paperback, and I'm there from early January to early June. By mid-February, half of them will have changed through trading.

Even though I read voraciously (sort of, but it's such a good word), I always seem NOT to have read the majority of books people offer to trade! So please, let me know when you'll be in town!

A boutique that sells large women's clothing. It would be a tiny place kind of like Crush but for super-sized women. Dresses, blouses, shorts, hats, swimsuits and accessories. A selection of sandals both dressy and casual.

The karaoke opposite Mambo (La Cucaracha) is still open. There's another one called El Piste off 10th around calle 34 or 36 (me thinks). La Cucaracha is more your spit and sawdust kind of place, El Piste is different - you can see once your inside for a start !

Its not what you open, as in what does Playa need, its what can you do that would be better then what is already offered here. In other words, I think you would have to come here for a considerable amount of time, get to know things, then say to yourself, I think I could open a place that makes this better or does that better....in my limited experience, better seems to sell better!

I think I could try and fit some more betters in there if I tried..I need a thesuarus
