Peepstock, 2007 - Reveille Revelry Sunrise Celebration - March 11
Dawn at home in early March
![]() Dawn in Playa del Carmen in early March ![]() ANY QUESTIONS?? So where are you going to be REAL early in the morning of Sunday, March 11th, 2007? And don't bother saying you'll be in your usual spot...participating in the services at your neighbourhood house of worship. I'm talking REAL early here. You can take part in this little bit of lunacy and STILL get to your regular religious observances. That's right, for the third year in a row, the Reveille Revelry Sunrise Celebration will take place, this year during the week of Peepstock. A check with the almanac reveals that dawn on that particular date will occur at 6:01 AM. So, you're invited to rendezvous at 5:30 AM, at Casa Bomberos, where the Bumpers hang their hats while visiting Playa. It's actually Las Palmas Condominiums at 10th and 26th, in the heart of Little Italy. We'll have cooked up a galvanized washtub of our infamous "Manitoba Mud" coffee - our own special blend of tar and other industrial wastes. ![]() In conjunction with that, there will be a little "Extra" additive from the Emerald Isle to jump-start your heart. ![]() Or, if you're not into our own particular variety of contaminants and pollution, (WIMP!!) you can bring along your own coffee/tea/Bovril/cocoa/Boost/Postum or whatever. And if you don't fancy Baileys (PERVERT!!) You're welcome to bring along your own "Extra" as well. From our meeting point, we'll head off to the Beach Webcam at the Shangri- La del Caribe, where we'll be making our Sunrise Salute to those pathetic Peeps back home who are brain dead enough to be up and about at that ungodly hour, as we greet the new day. Or, if you'd rather not wander through the pre-dawn streets of Playa holding hands like tots from a Daycare centre, you can just meet us at the Webcam, if you prefer. Optional brekky to follow up the road at La Cuevo del Chango, which I believe opens at about 7:30 or so. From there, we can all make our way to the Sunday religious observance of our choice. Speaking for ourselves, we'll likely be taking part in the service at Saint Mattress. So...if you don't get any better offers for something better to do in the wee small hours of Sunday, March 11, join us on the Playa in Playa and we'll see if anything noteworthy washed up during the night. (Frankly, I'll be surprised if we're not on a first name basis with most of the flotsam and jetsam that's likely to appear. Probably be a few Naughty Chicas, some cabana boys...you know who you are.) Pre-Dawn Beachcombers Bumper & Mrs. B - Bob & Jackie (Unless we can think of a way out of it!) Equinenut (Barb & Maggie & Shelly) Nerak & Gasman (Karen & David) Queencityfan (Sharon & Joe) Snowdogs (James & Melissa) JTM 1631 (JT) Heather (IF not too vertically challenged that early!) Mrs & Mr Sol (Alicia & Dave) Mr & Mrs Vike 57 (Randy & Gina) Mr & Mrs Stonecold (Mike & Barb) Mr & Mrs ace3lefty (? & ?) Beachnutt719 &TGD156 (Karen & Jerry) Bluespicker & himynameisjan (Eric & Jan) Kathy.web & ? (Kathy & Dan) Popeye & ? (Barry & Phyllis [maybe]) Mr. & Mrs. Smyles (Sonja & Greg) Brent & Kim (Kim & Brent - go figure!) BiznKitty (Kitty & "Biz" presumably)

As I've said in the past, I can't think of a better reason to set the alarm for "the middle of the night" while in Playa!!! (I'm usually only up at that time of "day" when I need to pee!!
) And for this Sunrise, we'll have a lot farther to walk to get to Casa Bomberos that the mere two blocks of past years. But that Manitoba Mudd and the delightful peeps surely will make it worthwhile. Please add Gasman and me to the list of sleepy-eyed attendees!!!

Ahhh! Excellent, seems we will be in the right place at the right time for this most exciting of ceremonies.
We are staying in a beach bungalow ( I've requested one on that side) and this will be, I'm sorry to say, our last day in Playa so not only do we get to participate you'all will have one last chance to drink with us plus act as our wake-up call so we don't miss any of our precious last hours. Sign us up, Sharon & Joe, AKA Flotsam and Jetsam Last edited by queencityfan; 10-03-2006 at 01:31 PM. |

Equinenut - It'll be good to see you again, and meet Maggie too.
Karen & David - Knew we could count on you. (You're not very bright, are you? Guess that's why we get along so well.) Queencityfan - The more the merrier! Look forward to meeting you. Snowdogs - This just keeps getting better. I'd get up before I went to bed to see you guys. I'm betting Melissa even looks good that early in the morning. |

I'll be there. Don't know if any or all of the rest of the family will join me, but I can always tell my oldest daughter if she doesn't go, I'll take her iPod away.
We fly out of playa that afternoon, so I can't think of a better way to say goodbye. Well, actually I can but this will have to do.

I'm ashamed to admit that I have never seen a Playa sunrise, even after vacationing here for 3 years and living here for over 2 years.
I must change this and so plan to attend the Reveille. Warning: I am NOT a morning person. The best part of waking up...is Bailey's in your cup!Who's gonna give me a wakeup call? |

[quote=vike57]Even tho I know my wife will be bleary eyed and cranky, she'll do just about anything for Bailey's and coffee!! We are in for the early morning fun -
Randy & Gina Ditto that. Might even talk my wife into cartwheels in the sand for Bailey's and coffee... Add Mike and Barb to the list of pre-dawn crazies...
