What resort has the best food???
We all know that the restaurants downtown are what you really want, but when you do go for the AI deal, what resort has the best food?
I've been to Iberostar Lindo and Riu Playacar so that's all I can base my thoughts on, and neither of them knocked my sox off. They were good, but not great. Is there anyone out there that has been to most of the AI's out there that has some thoughts, though of course all opinions are more than welcome! |

While I can't say I have been to "most of the AI's, I have been to more than one (that makes me an all-knowing expert - right
).Food is really important to me on vacation, and is a big factor on where I choose to go. I have been pretty amazed at what people consider great food at the places I have been. Royal Hideaway has consistently good to very good and sometimes gourmet food. We thought our meal at Ventanna's was excellent last June. Cieba del Mar (in Puerto Morelos) had excellent food too. OGFX had very average food - and this is one of the reasons I would never go back there. Riu Palace Mexico had average to above average food. After our vacation here I said the food probably would not cause me to return nor to not return. A lot of reviews will talk about the variety at buffets and say "If you can't find something you like you're too picky." But to me, there's a big difference between a ton of mediocre food and a few wonderful dishes. I'm anxious to hear what others have to say. |
