RE: DJ Kudos to Heather, Libby, SarahB, and more
You guys rock!!! Your level of commitment is impressive and I applaud you.
Heather and Libby, your visits and commitment and giving of your personal time makes me proud to know you. The amount of time you spend with DJ does immeasureable good, though you may not realize it now. SarahB, your initiative and follow-through with the t-shirt design, sales, and follow-through is also something so impresssive that it's just amazing. Bufante, thank you too for helping out in this process. PLAYA FORUM PEEPS.....do you realize how much good you've done? You have made a HUGE difference in someone's life. HUGE. I hope you know that. All of ALL of your efforts make some of the most jaded of us (me) believe in humankind and compasssion all over again. (insert sappy moment) ![]() JEZ...after meeting with you a couple of days ago and just hearing the STREAM of ideas coming from you with ways to help DJ was impressive, not to mention everything you've done so far; anyone would be LUCKY and BLESSED to have a friend like you in their corner. James/Anna, you are AWESOME for allowing this website to be utilized to help one of Playa's own...I look at this as this could be any one of us, moving down to Playa and living our dream, opening a business, and suddenly, the worst happens. Golden Rule. Some believe in it, some don't. I do. I'll say again that I'm proud to know those who do. I'm sure there are quite a few people I may not know by name or are forgetting to mention that are also involved, and for this I apologize. Thank you to all of you who are trying to make everything happen for DJ that they can. While we were down there, we were brainstorming after my husband saw and evaluated DJ, and one of the ideas we came up with was "have a beer for DJ", ie, stop by his bar, and have a drink or two for him. Honestly, it's a gift that keeps on giving to keep his business alive, and contribute to his medical bills. When Seakony brought it up the other day, I was SO HAPPY TO SEE IT!!! It really is a gift that keeps on giving. By keeping his business alive, you are continuing to help DJ! That's all for now. And thank you, everyone.a |

yes, thanks to allIn 1989, Stevie Ray Vaughan released an album called "In Step" and one of the tracks was a live version of a tune called "Life Without You"....... during the song, Stevie slows things down and talks to the crowd about his young selfish days where partying was his main focus and how he nearly killed himself with drugs, then he goes on to tell how he woke up one day and realized that the most important thing in life is taking care of yourself so you can be there when your friends and family need you.......I think Stevie was correct |

Very nicely put ami!!!!
I can so relate to what everyone "in" Playa is doing for DJ (had a friend a few years back with a head injury and far from home and family). EVERYONES' level of commitment to DJ brings a tear to my eye and a lump in my throat that I find it hard to post about it sometimes. As ami said, it could be anyone of us...I am proud of each and every person who finds the time and money and resources to help DJ.....

I too am so very impressed by the commitment by Heather, Sarah and Libby. Helping out with donations, using Playa.info as an avenue for T-shirt sales, auctions and whatever else can help DJ is the least we can do for a friend in need. I wish I could help more, but being nine months' pregnant and with a toddler, time and energy are my two biggest problems right now. I obviously get reports from Heather every day, and I'm so glad DJ has her. I'm telling you, if something ever happens to you, she's a wonderful person to have by your side.

ok you guys, cut it out. I'm hormonal right now and you're all making me cry.
I want to add that Ami and her amazing husband, Dr. Doug, took time out of their last vacation to visit with DJ a couple of times. Dr. Doug did an evaluation of DJ so that he could report to DJ's sister and Ami brought down the basketball hoop that DJ likes to play with. So...you guys rock. I'm lucky you guys consider me your friend. Now cut all this crap out, 'cause I'm cryin' again. |

Thanks Ami (and everyone else)! Ami, you and Doug have been amazing also!
There have been zillions of PMs sent also by forum members quietly helping in their spare time, researching, offering advice from similar experiences, etc. Thanks to all of you also! |

Oh, Heather, stop. You are a credit to our species. When "they" come, I won't let "them" take you.
