We're here, and LOVING IT!!!
Trip is going MOSTLY well, check in was Sunday, flight was great, Transat agent at the airport was an idiot. An hour areguemnt on the rooms once we got to the BM, got what we wanted, eventually. Flue bug for the first time in 6 years Monday/Tuesday, lost at least 15lbs since we've been here. Went to Playa only once so far, Tuesday night, didn't have much energy yet to do much.
Feeling great now, boozing it, soaking up the sun, kids are doing great back home. Going to Cozumel tomorrow to tour the island, maybe spend the night, back on Sunday. Toured the beach in Playa, all were unanimous on changing our location from the RPR to the BM was a good choice. Our home town has maybe 4,000 ppl, we need 4 km's of private beach to feel secluded I guess, the beach at the RPR is far too busy for us to feel relaxed. Touring Playa for some descent hotels for some quick trips in the winter months is on the adjenda next week, as is some condo searching, hee hee!!!! Looking forward to meeting more of you peeps next week, man this place is awesome. I just want to send a few plane tickets for the kids, screw going home........ I can dremI guess! Hola from the barcelo, talk to you all soon!!!! Mike, Julie, Vido, and Melissa Last edited by MikenJulie : 10-06-2006 at 04:24 PM. |

Having a dark rum and sprite as we speak, tan is coming along well, going to Playa this afternoon, some shopping, drinking, and meeting up with Andy and Jen later. Looks like another awesome day on the Riviera!!!!!

He wasn't alluding that there was anything "wrong" with the RPR, they've never stayed there. But they prefer a secluded beach area as opposed to a busier one. Since they had previously stayed at the Barcelo Maya, they knew how wonderful the beach was already and were not sure they would care for the RPR beach. End result - they switched hotels. |

You got it bang on Shammy, the RPR looked beautiful, location was great for the best compromise of location/night life and a top quality resort, but the beach fell short of what we think of when we go to the Riviera. Too busy, not enough privacy, the BM beach is super quiet with very few ppl, perfect.
The bad news, left my Canon A520 on a bench by the car rental on the Tropical side, came back 10 minutes late, gone. Had about 400 pics on the card, luckily all the pics of our girls and trip to Hawaii I downloaded on the PC at work, but I lost about the 150 pics I've taken on this trip so far. Quite angry about it. Screw the camera, the pics I miss. My cam corder takes still pics, 748x1024 quality, so I'll still have pics for a trip report, but I have to play catch-up over the next few days. Weather is super hot, clear skies, having a great time. My cuz and I did some condo shopping yesterday between Puerto Morales and Tulum, have a good idea where I'll be investing next year, hee hee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The girls will love it! Picked up a bunch of Cabo Wabo Anjeo (spelling), sampled some Don Julio, Sammy's cabo is still my favorite. Can't believe how much cheaper it is down here, they're ripping me off big time back home. Gotta run, talk to you all later, it's a bit after 10am here and I haven't started drinking yet! The humanity!!! Literally, cheers!!! ![]() |
