Here's one taken from the other side. This is the smallest part of the beach.

Now, my wife wants to go here.

I will write a trip report and title it "Reefer Madness".

But in the meantime, I have a really dumb question.

So I look on their official website, and they say that bottled water costs extra. Fine. You see those studies once in a while that says that New York City tapwater is actually cleaner than bottled water.

But The Reef Playacar has those big dispensers of water around so we can fill up our water bottles or insulated mugs, right?

You can't drink beer and margaritas 24 hours a day. I know, I've tried.

Was there in August and loved it. The pool pic looks the same as it is now. The beach pic looks the same also and makes me ready to go back. I would go back to the Reef Club in a heartbeat. Close to town and a smaller resort compared to the large crowded ones. The food was pretty good and Humberto, the lobby bartender makes a great Mojito! Yes, they have water in the dining area that you can fill up your water bottles with. I just went to Walmart in town and bought a bunch of water and kept it in the room fridge. I am trying to plan a family trip for 7 next year but it is so expensive with flights and required passports, etc.

You may want to book somwherelse. All the area in those pics dissapeared 4 weeks ago. The water is all the way up. It has even washed out the stairs to get down to the beach. There is some yellow caution tape keeping people away. The Riu Palace rm next door has absolutely no water acces. It is completely ropped off.

the beach changes rapidly. it comes and it goes. if the beach isnt big enough there go some where else for the day. beaches from each end of town and thru out are nice. south of pdc beaches are also great.

have fun and enjoy.

nye is going to be a blast in town again. my third in a row.

Well that really sucks. Do you recommend anywhere else close by where we can go? Also, are there any water sports nearby? I guess we'll just have to go to Mamitas everyday.
