Is this the one on the road to road to Mamitas? I doubt it b/c that's small, but I thought it had that name. Anyway, I hope not b/c it looked closed when I saw it last week.

Last I knew that was Pasta Luego? (unless there is another Ital. rest. right there?)

Please don't tell me it's closed - I really liked that place and the owner was so very nice. I know it was for sale - but still............

Yes, I think it is by Mamita's or at least on the way. My parents have rented a condo down at the North end, and they said it was actually in the same complex area. They've never been to PDC and decided to pick a place on their own, I hope it's not closed!

Someone mentioned it in this post. The picture looks like Pasta Luego. I haven't been that way in a while. Maybe it has a new name ... and new owners?

Pasta Luego is listed on the Playa Deal Card, so I would think if it were closed, or had a different name, Heather would have known that??

You'd think that, wouldn't you? Unfortunately, it's not uncommon for us to find out on the forum that a restaurant has changed its name or gone out of business...communication isn't the strongest here and with over 50 businesses to monitor, things sometimes happen too fast for me to catch it. I'll try to find time to check it out.

Oh, Heather, my Dear, I didn't mean anything negative towards you. I do know about the communication thing, or lack thereof. I have no doubt you hava a he.. of a lot to keep track of. I only meant that if they did change their name, or go out of business that they might have notified you. Or, that someone who tried to use the card at that particular restaurant would have notified you. I was looking forward to trying Pasta Luego in a few weeks.

Oh, I didn't take it that you were saying anything negative about me. I was trying to be wry, but it's hard to pull of wry with a post. Like you've said, it would be common sense for the restaurant to notify us if they went out of business, but they don't.

I think there are two Italian restaurants in that little strip on the way to Mamitas. I am trying to remember, but I think it was Pasta Luego that was closed. I'll look in a day or two when I go by.

We walked by the place that is/was "Pasta Luego" this Tuesday. It was funny because they had the menu out but the place was cleary undergoing some renovation and I couldn't see any tables or chairs inside. The canopy (or whatever that plastic roof-like thing is called) that said "Pasta Luego" was getting a new paint when we walked by (changed from jaguar-green (?) to off-white). I couldn't figure out if they were going the change the name too or if they were only doing some renovation/redecoration.

Congratulations, The restaurant is very small (sits about 20 people) but very good and inexpensive. The service also is realy good. It is on Calle Cozumel which is the first street to the left on 28 north on the way to Playa mamita's. As for Pasta luego, it is closed for renovations.

Thanks for the input and the photo! Glad to know it's at least open. I'll let you know what we think when we get back.
