President Bush Praises U.S. Muslims

From this article

Bush has hosted an iftar dinner annually for the last six years in the State Dining Room of the White House. This year, he opened with the traditional Ramadan greeting of "Ramadan Karim" and praised Islam for bringing "hope and comfort to more than a billion people around the world."

"You know that the majority of the victims of the terrorists have been innocent Muslims, and many of you have seen terrorist violence in your own cities and your streets," Bush said. "We are proud to work with you to defeat the terrorists and extremists and help bring a brighter future to millions of Muslim people throughout the world who yearn for moderation and peace."

Good for him!

You are welcome....unfortunately, as you can see....noone is much interested....23 hours on the "Poli-Battle- used-to-be-about Korea" thread and 14 hours on this one....check the "views" and responses difference....People, from the right, the left, political and apolitical, like to see and participate in a good "chicken fight" any day over hearing about really good things happening that we all might agree upon.....or is it something else about this news that restrains comment by most of the right and the left on the board????

Go figure

Good thing he did not praise the American Christians, or he might have been sued.

Why is this newsworthy He praises Americans on a daily basis.

That is it in a nutshell....
The good stuff is not newsworthy.

This is sort of like the 300 millionth American thread.
Something that's nice to know, but hard to get worked up about.

I think it's great he has made/is making overtures to the peaceful Muslim population. Hope it gets publicized where it would truly help the most -- say, Al Jazeerah -- but the pessimist in me thinks it will be received just as cooly there.

.
Non-American threads typically suffer the same demise

That almost sounds...could it be??? Passive aggressive?

kidding...that is good news, good for the Shrub (maybe that is why not so many responses, Jacko, there is really no debate, not much to say after one person says 'good for Bush'? )

Give this thread a little time, Jacko. Someone will find fault with what Bush did.

I'm surprised it's traveled almost a full page with nothing negative.

Nice surprise.
