1. Old Mr. Tidy was found dead in his study by Mr. Fiend. Mr. Fiend recounted his dismal discovery to the police. "I was walking by Mr. Tidy`s house when I thought I would just pop in for a visit. I noticed his study light was on and I decided to peek in from the outside to see if he was in there. There was frost on the window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside. That is when I saw his body. So I kicked in the front door to confirm my suspicions of foul play. I called the police immediately afterward." The officer immediately arrested Mr. Fiend for the murder of Mr. Tidy. How did he know Mr. Fiend was lying?
2. I can flutter and take your breath away. I can take a beating, but do not bruise. If I stopped you would be sure to lose. Everyday I am with you. What am I? 3. How quickly can you find out what is unusual about this paragraph? It looks so ordinary that you would think that nothing is wrong with it at all - and, in fact, nothing is. But it is a bit odd. Why? If you study it and think about it, you may find out, but I am not going to assist you in any way. You must do it without any coaching. No doubt, if you work at it for long, it will dawn on you. Who knows? 4. A guy was waiting at home, he swung a wooden pole, then took 3 left turns. On his way back home there was a masked man waiting for him. What is he doing, and who is the masked man? 5. You are working in a dairy and have two pots to hold milk. One holds 5 gallons, and one holds 3 gallons. Two customers have ordered 4 gallons each. They will bring their own containers which hold more than 4 gallons. Can you measure out 4 gallons using your 5, and 3 gallon pots? ! 6. A man wanted to enter an exclusive club but did not know the password that was required. He waited by the door and listened. A club member knocked on the door and the doorman said, "twelve." The member replied, "six " and was let in. A second member came to the door and the doorman said, "six." The member replied, "three" and was let in. The man thought he had heard enough and walked up to the door. The doorman said ,"ten" and the man replied, "five." But he was not let in. What should have he said? 7. Where are the lakes that are referred to in the "Los Angeles Lakers"? 8. Four men were in a boat on the lake. The boat turns over, and all four men sink to the bottom of the lake, yet not a single man got wet! Why? 9. A man told his son that he would give him $1000 if he could accomplish the following task. The father gave his son ten envelopes and a thousand dollars, all in one dollar bills. He told his son, "Place the money in the envelopes in such a manner that no matter what number of dollars I ask for, you can give me one or more of the envelopes, containing the exact amount I asked for without having to open any of the envelopes. If you can do this, you will keep the $1000." When the father asked for a sum of money, the son was able to give him envelopes containing the exact amount of money asked for. How did the son distribute the money among the ten envelopes? ! 10. An old man wanted to leave all of his money to one of his three sons, but he didn't know which one he should give it to. He gave each of them a few coins and told them to buy something that would be able to fill their living room. The first man bought straw, but there was not enough to fill the room. The second bought some sticks, but they still did not fill the room. The third man bought two things that filled the room, so he obtained his father's fortune. What were the two things that the man bought?

1. Finger prints on the window are on the inside.
2. Your heart 3. Did not figure it out, but no e’s 4. Baseball, catcher 5. Big Dave and I discussed this one. Pour the 3 gal into the 1st customers, then pour from the 5 gal into the 3, leaving you with 2 in the 5. Pour the 2 into the 2nd customer’s container. Take the 3 gal and pour back into the 5 and fill up from the 1st customer’s container, leaving 1. Now pour into the 3 gal from the 5 leaving 2 to add to the 2nd customer’s and pour the 3 gal into the 1st’s. 6. 3 7. Do not know, but is MN right? Makes sense. 8. Shallow lake 9. Think Dave is right on this one. 1,2,4,8,16,32,64,125,250,498 10. The sticks and the straw from his brothers. |

I was thinking for #1...why kick in the front door...if Mr. Tidy was home, wouldn't it be unlocked?? But then again, my front door is always locked, so I don't know.
And for #8...could it be that the lake was frozen? |
