Booking RPR through Apple Vacations
Does anyone know why Apple Vacations no longer has RPR on it's website as an available hotel to book? We've always had such good luck with Apple Vacations. Any other reputable places to book a package deal (airfare, lodging and transfers) from the midwest?

Try worryfreevacations.com They are a charter so they only fly out of a few midwest cities but it might work for you depending how flexible you are. I've used them in the past with no problems, and they do book GPR.

When we booked our trip to RPR in March, Apple didn't have RPR as a resort choice so we booked through FunJet. We've used Apple and FunJet several times and never had a problem with either...they are very similar.

I agree with conard10. Brent & I use apple and funjet we seem to go back and fourth between the two. For some reason apple seems to be cheaper when we book Mexico but funtjet is cheaper when we book Jamaica. But I have never seen a difference in service thats for sure!

Apple Vacations has not carried the Gran Porto Real for a good long time, and has NEVER carried the Royal Porto Real because that hotel wasn't even built when Apple dropped the GPR.
I don't know where you would be flying from but Funjet may have a charter, or scheduled air may be even less than a charter - just depends and should be priced with both options if available. I typically use Funjet for clients wanting to book the RPR - usually find they offer the best deals but again, just never know until you look around! |

Ooooo, well that's a loaded question! Apple's "Weather Guarantee" only covered you if you took one of their charters from selected cities, stayed at a hotel that was honoring the hurricane guarantee and traveled AFTER August 15th (but what about the June and July peeps???
) You would not be covered if you took scheduled air or stayed at a hotel that was not participating. ![]() Funjet has a perfectly good cancel for any reason insurance policy (two levels of coverage actually), but they won't offer you up a replacement vacation the same way that Apple will (if you qualify for one that is ).

We booked RPR thru VacationExpress.com, they offered good insurance (I think) and we also were able to save money if they dropped the price (everytime, not just once). For us, we saved about $300, enough for some fun time in town! But for my money, I would use Shammy next time, she knows the area well and would take good care of you.
