Playacar Palace

Staying at the Playacar Palace for the 1st time in November. Any recommendations on good transportation companies to get us down there?
Does any know if mid-November is a busy time at this resort?

Click on the Trip Planning tab up top... then the Airport Transfers link... that should help.

We were told with all of the Palace Resorts to look for the guys (at the airport) who are from CHAZA Travel. They have a contract with the Palace Resorts and they charge the hotel for the ride to/from the airport. It's all a part of the all inclusive. You shouldn't have to pay for the ride to the hotel. Don't forget to tip the driver! (and the guy who leads you to the van location at the airport!

I've only ever gone in Feb/Mar so I can't tell you about November. But I can suggest you seek out a gal in the 'guest services' department (I think she's still there). Her name is Mercedes and her english is pretty good. She emailed me recently and let me know that she'd been training in guest services (not the check in people...I mean the ones who should be able to answer any questions).
For bars etc, go down 5th Ave if you like the night life. Otherwise the hotel has two indoor and one outdoor bar that are much more 'low key'. (not that they don't try to have fun!!!)

Also....can you do me a favour and let me know if Juan & Fransisco are still working there? They are both 'captains' in the restaurants. (tuxedos at night) They are both great guys and I'm hoping they are still there when I return. (that's if you remember to check) Thanks!

After the trip we will give a full report to let everyone know how the Playacar Palace is.
I will have to check on the transporttation service as I didn't think the transfer was included within the AI price. Can anyone confirm that this is the case?

ah...good. I'm thinking with the reopening of Cancun Palace he may go back there (if given the choice). So many of the staff actually live in Cancun and have to shuttle to and from work. (makes for a really long day). Juan lives in PDR.
I just can't wait to get back there!

Are you a member? or visiting for the first time? Maybe my information is for members only, I'm not sure. I just know that when ever we go, the trip from the airport via CHAZA travel is included.

Who is your trip booked with? Chaza is the official transfer for all the Palace resorts and if you are booked with a tour operator (Apple/Funjet, etc) - your transfers with Chaza ARE included.

Thanks for the info. Did my own bookings using airline miles and such. I just ended up booking the transportation through playa.info. I should be all set. Thanks again.
