RIU Palace, or Sunscape Puerto Aventuras ?

We are trying to make a decision between these two resorts. The Trip Advisor boards are not giving very good reviews to Sunscape Puerto Adventuras, and the Palce always gets high reviews. If price is somewhat comparative, which would you pick? Thanks !

Goodness!

There is NOOOOO comparison between these two hotels. The prices shouldn't even be comparable but.........

TRUST ME........take the Riu Palace and don't ever look back!!!!!!

We loved the Palace! Puerto Aventuras doesn't hold a candle to Playa del Carmen!

We haven't stayed at either one but we were checking out the Sunscape for our upcoming wedding. (we decided on the Riu Tequila.) One thing that swayed us away from the Sunscape.... besides the fact that we couldn't find any good reviews, is the fact that it has changed names too many times over the last few years. The Riu's are very reputable.

Having stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico in the past & having just returned from a trip to the Sunscape (we asked to be transferred to another hotel after one day), I can't stress strongly enough that there is no comparison between the two - listen to Shammy!!!!!. Sunscape is a couple of notches down in quality from the other Rius in PdC let alone the Riu palaces!!!

Stayed at the Sunscape Puerto Adventuras two years ago. Riu Playacar last year. I would chose a Riu in a heartbeat.
