catalonia resort

Hey
Looking into vacation at Catalonia. What can you tell me about the resort? How far from Playa is it?

Is there shopping or things for the women around the area??

We stayed at the Catalonia in May of '05. Really enjoyed the resort itself and it is just a short walk down into the marina at Puerto Aventuras, where there are some sute shops and restaurants to enjoy.

I like the place. We skipped this year to try Cabo (mistake, its a fricking desert)
But, we went there the previous two years in a row. Afai am concerned you cant beat it for the money. Never had a problem with meals afa getting something we liked or a cold beer. (xxx on tap, light and dark). Highly recommend the ceviche and the guac. Staff was great and fun. It's a little ways down the road from Cancun,( less than an hour) but hey, someone else was driving and we had cold (i.e expensive ..airport) beer and got to rubberneck on the drive. I never really care as long as its not much over an hour..geez you're on vacation after all. Rooms were nice and clean always. Got tons of pics if you want to pm me.

I loved the Cat...cant wait to go back.
They have a free shuttle to Playa that runs 2 or 3 times per day.
You can also walk to P. Adventuras for shopping.

My son and I stayed there a year ago and we loved it. The price was right, there were plenty of things to keep us busy, its a short walk or you can take one of the bikes to Puerto Aventuras, some nice little shops and eating places there. We liked the food and our room was nice and always clean. The staff was super friendly and the A team was great with the activities. We would stay there again and hopefully will in the next few months.
