carseats? Why or Why not?

We are leaving for PDC soon with our 3 year old and 16 month old and are wondering if we need to bring their car seats? We may only do one outing that will require transportation outside of the shuttle to and from the airport. We have been to PDC before but not with kids, any suggestions...?

car seats. Have you checked with them to see? I know the Playainfo shuttle does. There are car seats that make into strollers as I've seen them in the Cancun airport.

We ALWAYS use carseats everywhere and would never dream of not using them. So perhaps saying that following the question i just posed is odd..but the only reason i asked is because i wasn't sure if the regular van (not the playainfo one) that transports is equipped with enough seatbelts for us to have the 2 carseats. If we can't use them properly we don't want to haul them all over the place....

We are taking our kids for Christmas this year...Ages 6 & 3. We will be taking my sons booster seat. Even though we will be taking the Playa.info transfer which provides car seats we are changing hotels mid stay & taking a taxi.

When we were there last time there was a couple in a Collectivo with us with a 9 month old they were holding on their lap. I am just not comfortable with that. I am a slightly overprotective freak though.....

Car seats save lives. It's no different in Mexico or for "brief" trips from the airport to the hotel.

Most trips will be fine without. But if your trip is "the one" will the consequences be worth the price?

When we were just in Playa, it really disturbed me as to how many children were on skooters or in cars without car seats. My opinion is that I would never drive anywhere at home without my son in a car seat- even on roads that I use everyday, so I would definatley use a carseat in another country!

Okay, clearly i worded the question wrong. I obviously know that car seats save lives and that kids should be in carseats... What i was wanting to know was whether they can be used in Mexico...do the vans and buses have seatbelts? I know that when you hop on a bus in the United States you aren't hauling your carseat with you because they have no seatbelts... (we have never riden by bus with kids just before someone jumps on that

) but i know that people do.....
Nevermind anyway..we're bringing them.
