She is hot, isn't she?...I think I'll keep her for another 32 years....if she'll have me

You just gotta love a woman who can wear a ball-cap like this! (She's going to kill me for that one...it was an early morning in Trier)

Whew...its getting hard posting all these pics! Just two more nights left on the trip...starting with Trier..the historical Roman Imperial Capital on the border with Luxembourg...heading to Cochem along the Mosul River Valley (where they make the BEST Riesling wines) where we stayed at the wonderful hotel Alte Thorschenke for the night.

Back up the Mosul(Moselle) back toward Trier to Bernkastel-Kues (long story), the most marvelous little village and then blasted out to meet my favorite German peep Andiline in Cologne (and our surprise ). Then back down to the Mosul to visit the amazing Berg Eltz that we missed trying to get to Cologne at a decent hour. The Porta Negra in Trier.......

Wrapping this one up soon.....I think I will put the few Burg Eltz castle pictures in before the Cologne pics that were contributed by a few more peeps...so we can end on that....so here is beautiful Burg Eltz on the Mosul River....never defeated! They just figured out how to remain friends with each new successive ruler in the land

And then Cologne! What an amazing city...with its magnificent Dom Cathedral...the Rhine River....and the lovely and warm Andilene (Andrea)!....we stayed at the Hotel Lint, right outside of Andilene's wonderful apartment in the historic part of Cologne....we visited the waterfront at the Rhine, ate a wonderful dinner at a classic German brewery/restaurant and drank a few Jaegermeisters with great new friends.....and some we have met before

The city is a testament to wonderful people, with strength of character and perseverence..this city was TOTALLY destroyed in the war...EVERYTHING was bombed except for the Dom cathedral. These Kolners are people to inspire you! Check out its beauty now....and see my great friends! One who opened her city, her heart and her home to us and two others whom we had met previously in Playa(Tony(Teezet) and Djina) who traveled across Europe to visit with us. We are forever in your debt for making this visit such a special time for us!

Mi casa es su casa if you can ever make it to North Carolina! Thanks! Jack and Linda

(some of these pictures were taken by my Real Fake European friends!)

After a lengthy delay in getting there, we finally found the hotel...and surprise.......

Tony and Djina were there too! (and their naked, blonde statue friend???? )

We dined together here....

We drank together at this great club with a great piano player.......

We shared the delights of this beautiful city....

What a wonderful group of people....and what a great apartment and view Andrea has.........it just seemed like time stopped for awhile....

Wow....
Gorgeous family...beautiful pictures...lovely panoramic vistas...
Gotta love the architechture.
Great trip jacko!
REALLY happy for you and we can tell you DID indeed have a wonderful trip.

Thanks for posting those photos and including us in your travels.
I suppose Andi gets to see that ALL the time...kinduv like us and the beautiful Black Hills - which we've been told DO remind folks of Bavaria...(Minus the Castles and hundreds of years of history...)

BTW - your daughter, in certain shots, reminds me of the beautiful actress Olivia Williams that played Anna Crowe, Malcom's wife in 'Sixth Sense.'...

Thanks Jacko, I guess I have to visit Germany one day... I've been to a few places like Trier and the villages along the Rhine and The Mosel but never to Neu-Schwanstein and the surrounding areas...

It was great having you all here and I am glad you took the time to come to Cologne!!!
