[partially political] don't vote...

... until you know where the candidates stand on the issues.

I came across a nice website sponsored by the AARP. Saw a commercial for it the other night and just got around to checking it out.

Basically, it includes each of the candidates running for their prospective offices with a link to their campaign website, if one is available.
There is also a voter's guide, which brings up certain issues and states each candidate's view, as well as AARP's.

Pretty cool.

Cool...anything that helps to better educate voters regarding where their candidates stand on the issues is good in my book! Thanks, nick!

AARP site

This site is virtually worthless, as far as my location Minneapolis, MN, is concerned. The information cited by the site is primarily made up of articles found in our local newspapers that are profoundly liberal and notoriously biased to the DFL (Democrats).

Always remember, AARP is primarily a company that markets products aimed at senior citizens. Period.

Gee, I'm certainly glad you cleared that up for me. For a moment there, I was labouring under the obvious misconception the retired people and seniors had the right to be informed and educated like regular folks. Can't imagine where I ever got that notion. Next thing you know, they'll think they're as good as anybody else, and we can't have that now, can we. Goodness knows anything that might prompt someone to question or form an enlightened opinion is to avoided at all cost.

We're still around, chum. We're not that easy to shake. Just don't tend to put our oar in these waters much. As you know, not our style, but every once in a while......ya' just can't let it all slide. Looking forward to kicking back with you and your the charming lovely, and I can pretty much gayrontee the only contentious issue raised will be what to pick off Chicago Don Jose's wine list Anyway, I guess we should really dispense with the socializing and drag this back more-or-less on topic. Lemme' see...how are we going to do that? Oh yeah..."How about them damned disgusting, repellant, offensive, unaware, mindless, dim Republicans / Democrats / Liberals / Conservatives??? Just who the heck do they think they are??!!" (There...that ought to do it.)
