You know what Kirby? You have the right to do anythign you want.

I'm saying that holding out on your spending just because someone has a different view than yours seems a little like "it's my football and if I can't be quarterback then I'm going home" syndrome.

There are MAnY people I do business with that hold differing views than my own...on politics, moral issues, religion, what they like on their morning toast...but we still do business together.

If its ok for the Chicks to speak their mind about the President because they dont like them, how come I am silly and close-minded for speaking my mind with my pocketbook because i dont agree with the Chicks?

She said " I am ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas," .........

Honestly do you really believe that is hardcore "speaking out against the president of the country"?

Who gives a rip?

If you don't want to do business with people who don't like the President I suggest you stay home & live in a bubble.....It seems the anti-GW movement is quite strong...

Not really Ginger. I dont have the voice they have. My not supporting them financially is what can speak for me. There are plenty of people who do this all the time and I think its really silly and close-minded to call people like this "silly and close-minded". (once again dont read too much tone into it i am just discussing, i am not angry about it)
There are people that wont shop at Wal-Mart or buy gas from certian companies, ect. This type of thing happens all the time. Would you support Enron if they were still viable and you had other choices? I wouldnt. I hope i am making some sense here, or at least helping you understand the original point...or it could be that its late and i am slipping into an incoherent slumber.

A Smily face giving you the finger....hadn't thought of that....Sorry I didn't intend to sound like a hag.....Really though...the point I was trying to make is that I think it would be next to impossible to do business solely with people who think the same as you.

I don't consider my responses any more inappropriate than yours....Man you are intense..

Maybe James could add it! Then again, it would probobly get WAY to much play in the political threads..nix that idea.

Its ok, its hard to get peoples tone in this type of medium and I obviously read too much tone into it. I apologize if i did.

You are probobly right. I think though that sometimes we do make decisions like this to get our point across if even only to make ourselves feel like we have some type of power in it. There is a certian Venezuelan gas company here in the US that I refuse to buy gas from...and i dont buy Dixie Chicks stuff...thats about it for me.

I have to say I admire you for never being afraid to speak your mind. I almost never agree with you but I enjoy reading your viewpoint.

I get what you are saying. My Dad once boycotted Budweiser in protest of the price of beer.....Doing his little part he said....

Have a great night......

I never liked the chicks anyway, But I did find it tacky making that statement in another country and to our allies at that. I also did not approve of Clinton protesting the war in another country while in school in England. If you got a problem ....keep it in your own backyard. I felt like bitching to the British made all Americans look bad. If they had made the comment on american soil , it probably would not have been a big deal.

We are one world aren't we? I just said you should look for your freedom of speach. Take care of it.
