What do you do with tuna/prickly pear?

I have looked for recipes online, but haven't found much. At least nothing that sounds worth making. Any ideas? Even my Mexican friend that was in my house last night asked what to do with it!

Yeah, that's where I pulled the picture from. I don't have any interest in making drinks or jelly though. Isn't there anything else?! Thanks!

Cut it into thin slices, drop it in the deep fryer and then sprinkle it with cinnimon/sugar.....seems to work for everything else.

Sorry, no ideas in this corner neither.
Agua de tuna, helado de tuna, etc. all fresh ideas, but nothing very fancy.

Did you got a bunch of them?

At GPR they served it for breakfast, just cut in half and you scooped out meaty stuff inside. Very tasty. Check link below.

Just did a quick check, apparently Amazon.com sells a whole cookbook dedicated to prickly pears. Weird.

I haven't had a prickly pear in quite awhile. I just cut them in half and eat the stuff inside. It contains a lot of seeds but is very sweet. Margaritas made from tunas are delicious.

Thanks! I just got one and I cut it open. I wasn't crazy about the inside, although I know that's how many people eat it. I ended up tossing it. Maybe I'll try another time.
