Voting 2006

In Oregon we vote by mail. I just sealed and signed my ballot.

I voted against all Republicans cause I don't agree with their positions on how to run the state or county.

We have lots of Measures in Oregon. I voted against using credit scores to set insurance rates, against two measures that would result in lower taxes and funding for roads, education, colleges and universities and a whole range of other publically funded services.

I voted against term limits because those just end up transferring power to legislative staff and lobbyists.

I voted for a tax increase specifically for county jail beds and increased funding for law enforcement. I voted for a bond issue that would increase greenspaces in the greater metropolitan area.

If I could have, I would have voted for more money for jx2's public works department down there on the coast, but there wasn't nothing on my ballot about that.

Our ballots go in the mail tomorrow, within a couple of days all these bastards will stop calling me and trying to influence my vote. Personally, I can see some wisdom to allowing us to sell our votes on eBay. Sure might make campaigns less expensive

We have a lot of things up for vote this year.
SD is a populist state that allows referred measures and initiatives with enough signatures to be placed on the ballot.

I never thought of it that way - the staff/lobbyist's etc. - and I hate it that the person with the most money wins. What does that have to do with term limits -well, I have had a few beers and now I forget
Oh, and that is sweet to want to vote for Jx2's public works!

Term limits don't work. We have them here. Term up, get your spouse in there to replace you, been done more than once. Term up, go run for some other office. You're really good at what you do, oh well, we're gonna replace with some schlock we've never heard of before. The original intention worked, Willie Brown was done, he's probably a lobbyist now.

I voted last week cause I won't be in country on election day...I can happily lay on the beach knowing my Republican candidates will be re-elected.
