Apple Non-stop Transfer - Worth it?

I have done various searches on this site to find out more about Apple's non-stop transfer service - I was able to find the answers to most of my questions, but not all. So here they are...

1) Is the additional $20/pp for a round-trip?

2) For those of you that have done it, were you happy with your decision?

I know that overall it isn't a significant amount of money, but from some stories that I have read, it might be a small price to pay to start off our vacation on the right foot. I know that the whole point of going is relaxing no matter that the situation is at the airport/hotetl/etc., but I just thought that I ask about other people's experiences. Thanks very much - and if these answers are somewhere, please point me in the right direction...

any time that you can fly non-stop, even if it's a little extra money, it's completely worth it.

Heater, I think Soundgarden meant airport to resort transfers not airfare. My opinion is it's worth the extra money. If you have a larger group, it might be worth it to get a private transfer quote from a company such as AGItours or one of the others. The price with them is per vehicle not per person. This is what we have done - not the Apple nonstop - even when booking with Apple.

David and I had non-stop transfers via our Funjet package last July.

It was definitely worth the $$!!

When you check in with the rep at the airport, remind him that you have a non-stop transfer. AND... if for some reason you end up not having a non-stop transfer, you should expect a refund of the cost. That's what we were promised, although we didn't have any problems with ours (thanks, Shammy!!). Had a private car both to Playa and to the airport.

We used Apple when we stayed at the Royal Hideaway. We were told the transportation would be a small minivan with people only going to our resort. That wasn't the case. We made stops at 4 other resorts before ours. It does eat up a lot of time. This year we booked for private transfers from the airport at the cost of $110r/t to ASP. We are not using Apple. I do believe the 20pp is roundtrip and I think it's worth it.

we have always done the apple vacations and never done the non-stop transfer so I can't say for sure about the cost but it always seems like the regular transfers aren't bad at all. We have always had a van with just one or two couples so it hasn't taken that much longer to drop them off and head on to our place. I guess it's just a preference as to how anxious you are to get there. I would rather spend the extra money on drinks or food in Playa. Thats just my opinion.

I, for one, would take the non-stop transfer! We ended up waiting almost 45 minutes for someone who NEVER showed up! So, we were extra behind, then had to stop at 2 or 3 other resorts first. We were at the RPR which is pretty close and it took us amost 2 hours! You'll never regret getting to heaven faster!

Thanks for all these great responses!! I really would like to think that once I get to the airport in Cancun, I would be able to say to myself "You are here...so relax no matter what!!", but I know myself well enough to realize that if we are stuck in the airport or something happens where we sit around waiting, I will probably drive my very relaxed, laid-back, b/f crazy! So, I think that we will probably try the non-stop transfer service from the airport to Iberostar Tucan. Thanks!!

Earlier this year we booked the non-stop transfer with FunJet...we immediately told the FJ rep that we had non-stop...he told us that we would still be in a van with other people but we would be the very first stop. We were a little annoyed because we had to wait about 20 minutes for everyone to arrive at the van, but we were the first stop. On the way back to the airport we did have a private car.

Although our experience wasn't perfect, I do think it's worth the extra money...when we talked to other people about this, it took them up to 3 hours to finally get to their resort.

On our last trip we paid for the Apple non stop transfer.......well worth the money. We did have to wait a few minutes for a couple of peeps........but really no problem. We got such a good deal on our April 2007 trip that we splurged for Cancun Valet............our resort is further from the airport and we will have our kids with us..........I highly recommend at least the non stop transfer.

BTW...............Canadian companies do not offer the non stop. Our trip was based out of Minneapolis.

That's a great deal!!!!!!!
I think we paid $8 for the bus and we had to wait at the airport for like 30 minutes for the bus to load up and then you get off at the bus station, not your hotel.
When I used to go to Cancun, we used Apple and their transfers took about an hour to get to the hotel.
All you really want to do after you land is hit the beach and it's so frustrating when you are stopping at everyone elses hotel first.

We often used Apple, but we would skip the provided transfer altogther, and grab a cab out of the airport. We always felt that the time savings justified the expense-which I as remember it, was approx $50-55 from the airport to Playa, then approx $35 for the return trip (a few years ago, probably more now). I'd estimate that we'd arrive at least an hour ahead of the other Applites, and on the the return trip we'd save at least a couple of hours. So to me, $20 pp, well worth it.

At first I read your question to be "non stop flight" of which I would say ABSOLUTELY worth it! But if your question was regarding a hotel transfer with the shuttle bus - then I'd say no. Take a private transfer. That's what I'm doing this time around. Learned the hard way the first time.
