Hey Chris, (cool name btw!)
Because we will have a vehicle this trip (for part of the time anyway) I don't imagine that we will be buying too many "packaged" tours. Lisa and I have been on a few in the past and though we can't complain about the value we generally received it is gonna be fun to "make" our own tours!
I am so looking forward to swim/snorkelling in cenotes. It sounds like such a unique thing to do. Can we rent snorkel gear in town or is it likely to be available at some of the sites? And most definitely we will be spending some time in Playa del Carmen. One of the reasons the area appealed to us in the first place is the fact that the town itself will be part of the trip. We don't mind the solitude and self=containedness of resorts like the Sol de Plata we stayed at in the D.R. but Playa sounds like it is the right sorta style and size.
When are you guys going on your next vacation?
