campfires

Will be in Playa in 4 days. I am from the North Woods, Minnesota. Used to camping , hunting, fishing , campfires etc. What are the rules for campfires? Can I have one on the beach? Is there wood available?

I have never seen a fire on the beach. I would imagine they don't allow it due to the fact that it's a pretty busy town and that the wind can blow pretty good and carry embers up onto one of the palapas and cause a fire...

Besides the fire hazard, I doubt they want to clean up the mess. The water is so clear you could spot black burnt wood a mile away. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Plus, even at night here, it's pretty warm. I can't imagine sitting around a campfire here.

I agree 75-80 degress doesnt warrant a campfire. I personally have never seen one in Mexico. Doesnt vacation mean to do things that are different from the usual routine

Don't get me wrong, I love me a campfire, and I'd love to go visit the North Woods and sit around a campfire getting drunk. I'm just too darned hot to do it here.

I have never seen a bonfire on a beach in Mexico, the temp doesn't warrant one.

Welcome to another fellow Minnesotain! Glad you joined the board. I have nothing on the campfire, but would follow what the rest have said. What I do know is that you need to "plant your butt" for MN...we're lagging behind Texas just a smidge...click here to be counted!

Oh and have FUN in Playa - it's the best!
