El Point, next to Pizza Pazza on 5th avenue between 24th and 26th. There used to be a good one on Calle 20 between 5th and 10th called Y Tu Cafe Tambien, but I think it's changed hands and haven't been there since it's changed.

There is a new place on 5th Avenue between Calle 26 and 28. It is on the west side of 5th near the "new" Cablova. Also, on Calle 24 between Avenue 1 and 5 is my favorite internet spot, 24 HOURS (at least I think that is the name) . And it is open 24 hours , hence the name. Also, as mention, El Point. All places are just a short walk from Riviera del Sol. I have a condo next to the hotel.

Hey, Jimi, if you haven't left yet, do you mind telling me what rate you're paying at RdS? Their website gives a rate of $90 or $105, but in an e-mail they just quoted me $120 or $135. A $30 shift in rates from their website is pretty large IMO (and the site was marked that the rates were for 2006/2007).
I'd love to stay there in early December, but I was hoping to stay below $100, and if their rates have really gone up that much I might head over to Luna Blue instead.

$90 cash or travelers checks, or $101 credit card. We will be staying 11/23 to 12/2, Jimionthelake is staying 11/20 to 12/3.

Isn't that odd? I wonder why they quoted me so high in their e-mail? I initially contacted them through the Playa site because I wanted to get a deal card if I ended up booking. I hope that doesn't have anything to do with it. I'll see if they get back to me today.

My e-mail came from Melina Tschopp, and the high rates were actually for cash.
I wonder what gives? Guess I'll wait for her to reply to my request for clarification (I sent her a link to their own rates page on their website) before I book, since $120/$135 is out of my price range. The $90/$105 was at the top of the range as it was.

The Playa Deal Card thing has nothing to do with, or shouldn't. Our clients are to get the exact rates as guests who find them from other avenues. If they tell you that it's because of the Playa Deal Card, I'd really appreciate your letting me know so that I can go tear the roof off.

Will do, Heather. I just re-checked their own website, and not only does it still show the $90/$105 rate, they're running a deal where if you stay 3 nights you get the 4th night free, and my dates are covered under that deal.
Still scratching my head, hope she gets back to me today. I'll let you know.

Our dates also. I printed out that special and will take with me and see what I can save. Fat chance.

Here's the reply I got from Melina (I also attached my response to her initial reply to my Playa.Info information request).

So, Heather, looks to me like they're offering two different rates! Jim, if you're still here, did you book your room through the Playa site or directly through the RDS site?

HI FRIEND: ITīS CORRECT INFORMATION, BUT THIS RATES IS ONLY IF YOU MAKE RESERVATION FROM WEBSITE http://www.rivieradelsol.com/en/reservation.asp.

IS A PROMOTION FOR THE VISIT THIS PAGE.

REGARDS
MELINA

Thank you for your reply, but I'm confused. According to your website, your 2006/2007 rates are $90 or $105 prior to Dec. 19. http://www.rivieradelsol.com/en/reservation.asp

Is that information incorrect?
