Wisconsin Peeps: Bartolotta Fireworks Company

Many of you Wisconsin/Milwaukee Area Peeps are VERY familiar with the Bartolotta family. Many have witnessed the spectacular display they hold each year on the Lakefront, Festa Italiana, or any of the smaller festivals in the area.

Sad news...the Bartolotta factory just had an explosion. The factory is not too far my office and VERY close to where my parent's live. My mom (NAN on this board) is great friends and works with one of the Bartolotta's. She lost a brother-in-law in an explosion in 1991.

I ask that you keep the Bartolotta family and their co-workers in your prayers. Early reports have Flight for Life on the scene with an unknown number of workers injured.

Hola Lollabella, hey, that has a ring to it!
I just drove past a few minutes ago and there was nothing to be seen from Hy 18, except 3 helicopters orbiting overhead. As you've probably heard, 3 people were injured. Your Mom and I must be nearly neighbors - I live several miles from Bartolotta's fireworks factory.

Thanks for the update. I've been keeping on eye on the news online as well as the radio. My mom's friend's husband is okay, but it sounds like her nephews are in the hospital. One in the burn unit?

We have seen the Bartolotta's displays before, the last time at this year's Festa Italiana. We'll keep them all in our thoughts and prayers.
