Thanks for informing us about this. Very nice idea. I just went out and loaded up with things for the children. We'll bring it along and chip in some cash as well. Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone, just wanted to update the Playa.info folks to let them know that I will NOT be manning the Tequila Barrel tree after all. I will now be at the Bourbon Street tree several times this week and next. The kind Paamuligans have taken over all the shifts at Tequila Barrel and are buying ALL the gifts for the kids at the TB tree. The Bourbon Street tree is full of wishes from the Bomberos kid...the rain yesterday didn't help people's charitable spirits and we didn't do very well , but we still have 8 more days to get all those kids gifts. Many of them are asking for bicycles, which I know might be a little expensive, but maybe some of you can get together to buy one for a tyke? Feel free to pop by Bourbon Street and say hi! See you there.

Hi Melissa, Well, it depends on the age of kid/size of bike. A few of us got together a couple of years ago and bought a kid's bike from a store on 30th ave. and it was about 600 pesos, if memory serves. Bourbon Street is on the East side of 5th avenue between 6th and 8th streets. BTW if someone wants to buy a kid a present and they don't want to shop, come by B.Street and we'll "estimate" the cost of the present you choose off the tree and I'll squeeze in the time to shop for it. I am very busy, but shopping for kids is "good busy."

Donations at Peep Meets for Angel Notion

I posted this earlier today on the PEEP MEET page but I didn't want it to get buried there so here it is again- this thread by Heather is probably more of an appropriate place for it.

As part of our commitment to Angel Notion, Randy and I are available to come to any Peep Meets between now and Jan. 6 to receive DONATIONS for the Angel Notion Christmas project.

PLEASE LET US KNOW if your Peep Meet will be bringing donations so we will know to be there.

If it is easier for visitors to leave the gifts at any of the Giving trees located in various locations along 5th, that is great, too.

BE SURE TO PM me with advance notice to come to your PEEP MEET to accept donations. Thank you for your consideration of this wonderful charity.

Just wanted to mention that SarahB and I will be at the Bourbon Street TOGETHER tomorrow, Wednesday, from 6-10 (I think that's the time!?). Sarah will be wearing a naughty Mrs. Claus outfit.

Just kidding.

Mrs Claus

Sorry I am going to miss you and Sarah.

Is there any way for us unfortunate souls who are not and will not be in Playa this week or next to make a donation? PayPal?

Tictoc: I copied this from Heather's post earlier in this thread (see Post #7):

Like to help purchase a gift for a needy child, but won't be here to donate? Go to www.angelnotion.org to submit a PayPal payment earmarked "Christmas gifts" in the comments section of your transaction.

Yay! I'm going in town to man a tree this afternoon! Though I wasn't able to commit huge blocks of time thru the month, I am going in with a neighbor today and possibly other days and will be at La Vagabunda from 11:30 for a few hours. Should be fun and I'm looking forward to it. If there's any chance you're reading this and will be in town, stop and say hi!

Special ED school chorus

Some children from the special Ed school school CAM are singing at the Paseo del Carmen Tree if you have a chance go by.
