Rest in Peace, Bones
It's with a heavy heart that I report that our friend and Playa character "Bones" passed away yesterday unexpectedly of a heart attack. When I heard the sad news, I was happy that the last time I saw Bones, he was extremely happy and playing the harmonica in front of a large group of people at Captain Dave's on 10th. He did what he loved all the time and always had a smile on his face. Playa just got a little less colorful.

this makes me sad
I was working with him Saturday on his place in Paamul. Susie and I talked at length with him this past weekend about helping us with the new palapa. I didn't know him long but he was one of the good guys |

I've had the pleasure of knowing Bones since before he moved to Mexico. Although my family and I are deeply saddened by his passing, it pleases me to know that he got to live his dream and died in a place he loved surrounded by his friends. Not everyone is as fortunate. He will be missed by many.

It looks like I will miss him by a week. I believe he was from Minnesota - at one time. "Larry Lawrence." He was a great guy.

Well, that was my good buddy, One of the main reasons I was going back was to see him and have a beer with him, i lived in the palapa right next him last year in dec, we were always having a few beers. I remember he told me that he had heart problem last year, but he smoked like a trooper. I remember he was at one of the bars playing, i think it was a little british bar in playa last winter , he was alot of laughs. now I regret picking him up cigarettes.... It wasnt his first heart attack....
miss you buddy, From rob mackay |

Wow what bad news...
The last time I saw Bones was at the fund raiser for DJ at the TB. He rushed off and came back with several holiday makers to help raise money (by paying the cover charge). Gone but not forgotten. |
