But....the issue also is, that perception is important here- by insinuating (or outright saying!) that Boston Univeristy is offering these scholarships, you are twisting the reality of the situation.

That's all I am saying...but you are right, the issue is worth debating though...

is affirmative action good or bad? Has it had it's time and now is an anachronism doing more harm than good for race relations in the US? Or is it good and necessary for an equitable society? Discuss.

They already have tons of scholarships for white kids. Knights of Columbus, The Elks, FFA, etc, etc. They are not "white" by name, but I would venture to say that almost all of them go to Caucasians. I have no problem with groups offering scholarships to anyone they feel deserving. I do have a problem with admitting students based on race rather than on merit. It is unAmerican.

Congress should set a date specific for ending affirmative action. I think with the Democrats in charge of Congress, there is a good chance this could happen.

Wouldn't this be similar to being selected for a scholarship because you are of native heritage or you have a physical disability or because your parents are not capeable or don't have enough money to pay for your university??
To me its all the same. What's the point in working hard, if you are not going to be eligible for any scholarships?

I'D LIKE TO HAVE ME one of them white people scholarships. Where is I able git one? I sure would like to be learned something at one them colleges, not to mention the girls like the ones I see'd in Playboy in the Girls of the Big 12.

What is the Big 12 anyway? Is it better than the Big 10?
Would a Big 8 be okay? I have so much to learn about this college stuff
