I got everything I wanted to get. I was surprised because when I saw the parking lot, I thought they'd be sold out of what I wanted.
Wow, you did well!!

I just talked to one of the supervisor's here at work. He was up at 4:30... went to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Staples and Target, got everything he went in to get and made it to work by 7:00!! He even stopped by McD's to get breakfast! He did some major power shopping!!

I was at Target at 7 this morning - thank goodness they have a Starbucks inside. Have to get my kids' x-mas gifts when they are not around; i.e., still asleep! I found just about everything I wanted except a .the portable DVD player I went for. Target sold out of the cheap ones within the first 15 minutes. Now I am just waiting for my husband to get ready so we can head out and get a few more things.

Wow you are my hero...you did good, I had fun just looking at all the ads in the paper. I think I will take the easy way out this year and do gift cards to Barnes and Nobles.

My hubby (Commando on this board) is an amazing power shopper! He hates shopping so much and is very decisive. Whereas I'm the opposite. I'll hesitate to make the purchase until I've spec'ed it out, compared prices at a few different places, and chosen the perfect item. It takes me a long time to do my shopping! He basically goes in with a list, picks the stuff he likes and DONE! I think my son is developing into the same style power shopper too. Walks down the aisle, zeroes in on the thing he's looking for, picks it up and OK, let's pay. Very focused. Unlike mama and his sister.

Hell NO! Can't stand the madness and crazies who camp outside the stores to shove and battle their ways in. Hubby went at 6:00 a.m. (he always gets up at 5 on regular days anyway) and everything he went for was already sold out . I usually do some shopping online or I go when the crowds have lightened. Not able with the doorbusters though. Hope you found something at CC . I'm a great fan of Wusthof knives myself.

Bobby just came back from shopping at Home Depot and Ace. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here in my jammies drinking my morning coffee.

Life is good!

We're twins Hubby and son are like yours, and daughter is unfortunately like me. At least we enjoy shopping together...or comparing everything for ages anyway.

Good point...we ladies bond over our shopping experiences, I guess. Because I learned my shopping style from my mama, and have spent many memorable days shopping with her.

I think I'll take advantage of the sunny weather and try to get our outdoor Christmas lights put up today. And go to the nursery and pick up some nice fragrant greenery for the front of the house. We have some fake wreaths that I bought a few years ago for the front because with the western exposure, real ones gets dried up and burned out too fast. However, I just love the smell of the real thing...

This thread got me wondering- do you guys have big Boxing Day sales too, or just Black Friday? Our big sale day up here is Boxing Day (December 26th), with huge discounts, lineups, etc. (and I avoid it like the plague!)

But a co-worker actually drove down yesterday from here to Minot, North Dakota to hit Black Friday sales and spend the weekend. He was going to try and buy a tv, and a laptop.
We were laughing at him- nine hour drive to go stand in line at a Best Buy.

Sitting here in my sweats, with my headache and coffee. Had I gone out this morning, you probably would have read about me on the news. I'm not much for crowds and pushing, the way I feel this morning, I would have pushed back! I prefer to just wait and pick a few things off at a time.
