![]() ![]() My favourite sauce would be conchinita pibil sauce, the orange juice/achiote paste conconction....mmmm. Also curries like Tikka Masala (or pretty much any curry really!) Peanut sauce on my vietnamese fresh rolls and fish sauce on my spring rolls and bun ga zao. That thicker, gingery soy sauce for dipping that they give you with sushi. My mother in law's amazing cabbage roll sauce made from tomato soup, cream, and spices. Simple but GOOD. My roast beef gravy sauce made from BBQ sauce, onion soup mix, Worchestershire, brown sugar, oil and soy sauce. Yowza. ![]() And good ole Tabasco. Although I buy a far cheaper store brand that is actually even better. I put it on everything. okay now I am hungry ...where's my breakfast!![]() |

My father in law orders it in from the US and gives it out at Xmas. I'm a very lucky daughter-in-law ![]() |

I love Hot, but not in bottles
I have never found a hot sauce in a commercial bottle that can hold a candle to most of the hot sauces put on the table at any taco place in Playa. All the hot sauces at the different breakfast carts are first rate.
Unfortunately, my chili head often exceeds my tolerance. I really love the green sauce at El Oasis, which is an absolute Killer. Your lips burn for hours. Last time I ate there, I had so much green sauce that I was in a full sweat. I paid the check and got up to leave and passed out cold on the street. That sauce will really get you if you are not careful. By the way, if you imitate my excess and wind up on your back on the pavement, you will be amazed at the friendly help offered by passing tourists and the restaurant help. In 5 minutes, I had EMT trucks and 3 policemen and the nicest bunch of peeps and tourists. I was fine in 10 minutes, but I had to make a resolution to respect the chili sauces in the future. |
