Long Term rentals for 2-3 bedroom flat in playa ?
hi,
My wife, 2 yr old daughter and I are going to move to playa for work purposes around jan. next year, but we will want to find a place to rent on a monthly basis obviously. All i found for the moment online and in the Tourist office of playa is some high end condo in playacar or other, kinda 1'000 USD a WEEK, so with a local wage it's impossible as you might understand ;o) Does anyone know where, how much, how and other answers to these kind of questions so that we can start "legworking" over the web, phone, snail mail and so on ? thanks in advance Olivier |

Many landlords only put up a sign in a a window, so there's usually a bit of real legwork involved in finding a place. But there are some rental agencies of course - try aluxes@playa.com.mx. Be aware that unfurnished sometimes means that there's nothing in the house, no fridge, no cupboards - just walls. Just make sure you get things defined.

I agree with Anna's suggestion of contacting Aluxes. I have rented long-term from Nikki (she's the manager) and she is a wonderful lady. I cannot reccomend her enough. She should be able to help you with whatever you're needing as she has furnished and unfurnished properties throughout Playa. From my personal experience, furnished pretty much means everything...furniture, tv, stereo, all cooking/eating utensils, linens, etc... In fact, all I had to buy was toilet paper when I first moved into my condo! I'm not saying all of her furnished properties are going to consist of all the above - just wanted to let you know that option may still be available. Congratulations and good luck with your move to Paradise!

Aluxes
I too will be looking for a long term rental soon. Can you tell us is Aluxes the name of the business or a person? Also can you give some idea on costs of renting a nice place fully furnished. Did you have a good number of places to choose from when you rented? How long did it take you to find a place and did you wait until you got to Playa to find/rent? How long of a lease did you have to sign? I know many questions! Any other helpful info would be great! Oh, one more question were you able to hook up a computer in the place you rented? Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!

Siete Aluxes is the company name and Nikki is the manager. The furnished 2 br 2 full bath condo she found me runs for $700.00 us per month. I consider it a steal as it is absolutely beautiful - marble everywhere. But she has different properties scattered throughout Playa with varying rental costs. Just email her with your budget and she will let you know what she has available. I waited until I got down there as I didn't want to rent long-term without seeing what I was going to be living in. Pictures do not do justice all the time. I found my place in 1 day as there were plenty of rentals to choose from. As far as the lease goes I just told her how long I was needing it. About Internet connection, that will depend on the rental. Some have access - some do not - some you can have it installed. Again, let Nikki know what you need and she will try her best to accomodate you. I hope this has helped you.
