Hola from Pennsylvania

Hi everyone,
Just a little background info - hubby (early 50's) & I (late 40's) just got back last Tuesday, 11/28 from Akumal & Playa. This was our 18th trip to the area. Yes, we are hooked. We stayed 4 days at the Vista Del Mar Hotel in Akumal and 6 days at the Mimi Del Mar Hotel in Playa - both of these are very nice, clean, and reasonably priced hotels. Anyhow, we had a wonderful trip. We tried two new restaurants - Babes & Mannes Biergarten - and both were excellent. I especially liked the Peach margarita at Babes. So now it's back to work & I'll start counting the days till we return in April (which I just booked two days ago). It helps with the withdraw.

Sheesh, 18 trips? Welcome to the best website... don't forget to add a countdown ticker.

And I see you have discovered the secret to getting over the blues of returning from vacation...book another trip...works for us too.

Thank you. Yes, I actually had the crab rolls on the recommendation of friends we know who have a condo in Playa. They were delicious as were the Swedish meatballs & mashed potatoes (I love mashed potatoes).
Yep, I discovered that secret a few years ago. We typically go down now twice a year. Usually a week or two after we get home, I'm booking the next trip. It really does help to have that next trip to look forward to.
I see your from the Chesapeake Bay area. My husband and father-in-law go crabbing down at Bush River & Andy (my husband) & I have gone to the Sunfest the last five years.

We live very close to the Bush River....we were members of Bush River Yacht Club for two years..... ...and my husband and father love to go fishing all the time on the bay...what a small world.

Sunfest is great...the kids love going to the Winterfest of Lights that is in OC right now...we went last year...but I don't think we are gonna make it down there this year. ...We may go to HersheyPark for their Candyland Christmas display of lights and rides....that is alot of fun and a short drive for us too.
