So excited....

Hi everyone! My DH and I are going to PDC for 6 days the end of January. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary. We are in our very early 50's and looking for sun, water and shopping (on my part anyway!). We are staying at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. Any advice is welcome. We were in Mazatlan about 13 years ago, but have never been to this part of Mexico. We have been to the Caribbean several times (Bahamas, Aruba and St. Thomas), but are looking to try somewhere new. Thanks .

Hi Sherri
Welcome to the forum. You will become addicted very quickly. There is so much information to be found here. Friends of ours stayed at the Riu Palace R.M. and loved it. Very posh I hear. A cab into town is $5 and you will find shopping galore along with wonderful restaurants and bars. Cinker1 has started a peep meet thread if you are interested:http://www.playa.info/playa-del-carm...peep-meet.html
Not sure when you are going to Playa, but this is end of January.
Good luck!

Welcome to the board, lots of information available here.....if you are going get out and about, make sure you get the Playa map from the Mapchick at cancunmap.com, more invaluable information prior to your trip......do your research, and you will be well rewarded...lots to see and do, or if you don't want to, there is lots to not see, or not do, just sit back and relax.......

Oh, great idea about the Playa map! They are absolutely wonderful. I have one for the Riviera Maya as well. I cannot tell you how dog-eared it is! I'll be ordering one as soon as they are updated again. I think mine is 3 years old.

Gotta chime in here with the others about the Mapchick maps.

Not only do they offer an easy-to-read map, but they also provide all sorts of other information!! They are just plain FUN to look through and read!!
