Ok, you are standing outside the entrance to Shangri la, looking towards the sea...

There is a road to the left (north) and condos called Natzi Ha. Walk on this road until the next junction, (about 25mts or 26 yards!) and La Pummarolla is in front of you.

Calzone pizza here is to die for.... Also the wine in carafes is generally good and inexpensive.

Enjoy!

Walking up 5th Ave (north), turn right at calle 38th & go 2 blocks toward the beach (you will pass Cueva Del Chango on you right, it is between 5th Ave and 1st Ave). When you get to the 2nd street go to the left (north). This is Calle Flamingos. Pummarola is up this street 2 blocks (but there is no Calle 40th there) It is on the northwest corner of the intersection of calle 42 and calle flamingos.

Great job Jim. I`m adding this to my map markers.

Jez, I don´t get it, Calzone and Pizza are two different things (of course made with the same dough) the first is a big empanada and can be baked of fried, so What is a Calzone Pizza?

OK, if you would stand on the street corner where Pummarola is located and look down the street to the beach, Shangri La is on the where this street (calle 42) meets the beach. Does this help. Jim

This shot was taken last year from Pummarola looking south down Flamingos street.

,
It is about 2 blocks south of this (falling in the cenote condos) place.

Well in Italy its called calzone... Basicaly you take all the topping and put it into a bowl and mix it with raw eggs. Place it onto the pizza base. Fold the pizza double so that it looks like a a cornish pasty. When it is almost baked, pour the tomatoe puree onto the top. Delicious!

So is it a big empanada? Maybe, maybe not!

Thanks for the clarification. I know what calzone is, and I know what pizza is, but I was confused as Jesus was by the term "calzone pizza". Guess they're just using it to define calzone as being something similar to pizza. Oh man, now I'm hungry again. Darn this board!
