La Tortuga or Mosquito Beach?

We just can't decide! We are going to Playa for our honeymoon. If La Tortuga was on the beach it would make the decision much easier. Any input would be appreciated.

I haven't seen much on here about Mosquito Beach. Has anyone stayed there?

I have not stayed @ Mosquito Beach but have looked around.
Decided to stay @ La Tortuga.
The swim up rooms are very special. Being able to sink into the pool after a night out is awesome.
The staff and also very good, as is the breakfast.

I'd concur with Paul....
Stayed at the La Tortuga, swim-up room.
Very nice...one block walk to the MIDDLE of the action....great pool and courtyard area...lounge area, and the Agora restaurant gave us a couple of different options for breakfast, which came with the room....add-on sides are at minimal cost and they serve a mean capuccino. The staff are wonderful and the management really went out of their way for us. PLENTY of beach options a five minute walk away and passes to Mamita's up north are complimentary. Plus, I believe they have a new-ish SPA arrangement with ITZA-spa on-site. C-Store and lavenderia and money exchange cambio right across the street.
Nice place.

Ditto what Cuffed and Paul said....we love La Tortuga, but have not experience with Mosquito to compare,....we actually liked the fact that La Tortuga has a nice pool as opposed to the beach...gave us a chance to get some quiet relaxation at the pool away from the beach and the action whenever we wanted it....

I passed by Mosquito the other day, and it looks very cool and has a decent beach for the area, but according to some reports on TA (with pics), it looks like the rooms might be so cool as to be less-than-accomodating. For example, no place to put your stuff, no shelves, that sort of thing. The pics of the rooms looked very cool, but you need storage space--just because it looks cool doesn't mean it's well-designed. I like user-friendly.

Very hip, though, and the beach umbrellas are all black (be interesting to see how long they stay black in the full sun), very handsome design on the surface.

I heard Mosquito Beach has square toilets. Really!

Mosquito Beach is to "South Beachey" for my taste, but I think that is the trend in Playa.

I loved La Tortuga. Beautiful, tropical, relaxing, and still very Mexican. I would recommend that hotel in a heartbeat.
