Sometimes You Just Have To Brag

I am proud to say after a little over 9 years in field of Human Resources I am being presented the Award for Human Resources Excellence for being the Provincial high scorer in the CCHRA (Canadian Council of Human Resource Associations) National Professional Practice Assessment exam.

This is a career that I never would have imagined for myself, but now I feel pretty good about it.

Congrats..that is great....those exams are usually very tough.
I have been in HR for 20+ years...and I to love it. It was not my first career choice either.

Is that the same thing as the SPHR certification and exam ? or something different ? I took mine SPHR certification test a few years ago and passed, it was a lifetime thing (sort of like what a CPA is for an accountant). I think now you have to take a renewal exam every few years/and so many education hours each year ..so I am glad I got mine when I did.

Love your avatar by the way....

Cheated on the exam, eh? Always a good idea to sit next to the smart people. Impressive professional designation, but your business card is going to have to be about 6 inches long.

Some of ya'll are nasty

Congrats!! I have an achievement to report also. I did not get fired in 2006.

Three more years and I could walk, iff I chose to. As long as I stopped taking my life-saving medication, I'd have enough to live on for the rest of my life

That's the whole secret, isn't it, Ron? Figuring out when you're gonna' die. If you know how much money you need to live the lifestyle you want, and you can determine when you're gonna' shuffle off this mortal coil, then a bit of basic arithmetic can tell you how much money you require to finance your way to the last round-up. When you've got that many bones buried.....you pull the pin and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. Simple.....mostly.

Congratulations! I know how hard you people work, and I'd hate to have your job!!! When I used to be in hospital administration, the guy in the office next to mine was the Director of HR. We routinely "shut down" the hospital every night, leaving around 7pm. The evening staff knew they needed to behave while we were in the house (Quality/Risk Management AND Human Resources) Horrible to be on either department's s*it list
