It seems as if this battle as been going on for awhile and is just escalating once again. I really am praying for the folks there. I cannot imagine being awakened to a machine gun in my face. This is just terrifying.

I never really liked the ****** and only went there 'cause of the couple of Peep Meets held. Never again.

I just got the information that everybody who is affected should come together and all of you have to go immediately to the "Ministerio Publico" (Av.35) to make an official announcement !!!
We also have in Playa an office for "derechos humanos" (human rights) but I don't know the adress

The office for human rights is on the corner of 15th and Juarez. I've never seen it open, but it's there.

If people have been thrown out of thier condos they won't be sitting in an internet cafe, so hopefully someone local will be able to let them know about this info and keep them up to date. Also, it's late Saturday, so the chances of getting any help seem grim. I'll be watching this thread tonight. Good luck to all.

There's not much I can do from my standpoint. That being said I think the situation is awful and if it is true and *** and *** have no right to do what they did, if I was in there situation, I think I would have a hard time sleeping after this.....It only takes making one person mad before what goes around comes around.

As it would appear James may know all too well, you get some very unwanted attention from some folks if whatever you're doing results in you being in a position of some notoriety for one reason or another. Not everybody out there is well balanced.
