Questions Couples Should Ask

My nephew is getting married next October. Are there any other questions that he and his fiance should ask (besides those in the article below)?

I've been married 40 years (she's a very patient, tolerant angel) and I don't remember the questions I asked, let alone the answers.

Do each of us know how to deal with the other when he/she becomes ill or incapacitated? (it's good to know whether your mate is a good/bad nurse OR a good/bad patient)

Do we really LIKE each other? Not love, not lust, but just plain like....

Do you like the white meat or the dark meat?
The left or the right side of the bed?
Separate bathrooms are always a good thing

Do you like to talk to this person? Good converation skills are important lasting trait.

Yep...I have some...
Very, very important questions....
  1. Do you typically leave the toilet seat up or down?
  2. Are you a 'cat' or 'dog' person?
  3. Fan 'on' at night or 'off'?
  4. TV 'on' at night or 'off'?
  5. Who will cook most of the time, some of the time, or none of the time?
  6. Who drives better, you or me?
  7. Can I spend your money, or should I spend my own?
  8. Do you consider yourself to be: a clean freak, a semi-clean freak,...or a slob?
  9. Heat 'on' or 'off' on a cool winter night?

Very good ones Bonnir. I think #8 would be most important to me.

After 35 years of being together, 27 of those years being married, my questions would center on the division of housework, finances and making sure you have the same values and expectations on raising kids. I laugh when I think of how young and naive we were when we started walking to school together in 7th grade and then began dating at 15! Love, commitment and having the same values are great but the best thing to have is a sense of humor!

1. Do you have any outstanding warrants?
2. Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party?
3. Are you a Dallas Cowboys fan?
4. Cheese Whiz or provolone on your cheese steak?
5. Did you vote for Bush?
6. Do you watch Dancing With The Stars or The Bachelor?
7. Do you think Keanu Reeves is a good actor?

This a really good one! I don't think Terry or I could have guessed all of the health issues I would have and thank GOD he is great at everything when I am under the weather And love, especially that exciting 1st love feeling does wane a bit, and you have to like the person or you are doomed!
Another....How many kids do you want???? This is a biggie!!
