Opened Christmas presents!!
OKAY I need to rant a bit!!! Terry and the boys went to the cabin last nite so they could do some work on deer stands today, so it's just me and the girls. So I tuck the girls in last nite, and then chase the 4(almost 5 yo) yo back to bed several times. I go to bed around 10 pm. My Chihuahua wakes me up a couple of times barking, and I figure it's the cat tormenting him. I get up the a.m. about 7:15(as soon as I hear the girls up), make my coffee, and sit on the sofa. I notice some presents turned over, no biggie, the cat sleeps under the tree, so I figure she and the dog did it. Then I really start looking close and notice some in paper-sack-bags are missing. So I tell the girls they better bring them down. The 6 1/2 yo old says "I didn't do it, but I can tell by Chloe's face she did!" I tell her to look for the presents upstairs, I look down. SHe comes outta their room and yells down :OMGosh Mama, Chloe opened them up and has them under her bed! " So I go up, still thinking Okay, 3-4 presents are missing. Can you say WRONG????? Try about 15 presents ripped to shreds And they weren't just hers, they were everyone's!!! I am so pissed off, I am just having to stay away from her so I don't strangle her Alright, there it is. Of course my Mama said I'll laugh about it, and I said it'll be a loooonnnnggggg time B4 I think this is funny. I just hope she has 10 just like her when she grows up!!!

Sorry...I think it is a little funny!
You will too as time passes. The under the bed, out of sight, out of mind trick is hysterical...like you wouldn't notice! You can just see how her little brain is developing. It will give you a chance to "bond" when you have her help wrap or sit in her room or whatever the consequences are. I can remember opening packages when I was little and then trying to wrap them back up without my mom noticing. Take a breath and relax! Aren't kids wonderful!

Oh man...I know you're really pissed off about this but is it okay that I think it's funny?
. 15 presents? She was a busy little girl! Now that I think about it that's 15 presents you have to re-wrap and that's alot of time and paper...I'd be pretty upset too. Take a deep breath and take some pictures so you can show her in future years what a little terror she was that night!!

That is hilarious!!! Thanks for the laugh!...under the bed.
My little Emily who just turned 3 has opened 2 packages so far and was threatened with having some of her presents taken away if she did it again...she hasnt done it since so apparently it worked. Emily didnt think to hide her gifts that she opened, she just opened them up and started playing with them right there.

If it were me, yes, I would be furious too. (But, outside looking in, you KNOW you'll be telling this story to every one of her future boyfriends!) AND... if it were me, I'd be taking every single one of those gifts that were for her back to the store so that she has NOTHING but Santa gifts to open on Christmas morning. She really does need a major consequence for this, in my opinion.

OK, so I go out back to smoke a cig with my coffee. Look for my pack, can't find it, think well did I take it in the house earlier??? Uh NO, my dog has gotten my pack and eaten all but 2 cigs!!(he's usually just a social smoker, but I guess he need the extra fix this a.m.!)
And yes Susie, I know spankings are forgotten, the problem with the unwrapped presents only 1 or 2 were hers, the rest were everyone else's AND she's already told Madilynn what some of her gifts are, and Madilynn was NOT happy with Chloe for that!!! |
