Would really ike to show you some pics of the fireworks here in Cologne but most of them didn't come out. I had a different evening from what was planned as we went to a show first. It was a wedding party, we had a 4 course-dinner and after the show there was supposed to be a party. When we arrived we all got new names (as we were supposed to be the wedding party). I was the wife of a man whom I had never seen before in my life (and his wife was sitting at his other side

). The meal was more hostal style - stuff did not arrive on plates but we had to get us our share out of bowls... wouldn't have been a problem if we hadn't paid a lot of money for the tickets. The show itself had some very original ideas but all in all it was bad taste a lot of times. The only funny thing was when a girl was on the stage and some guys kept shouting 'striptease, striptease' one of the actors went down to get the guy who was shouting the loudest, got him on the stage and told HIM to do a striptease

You should have seen that guy - he had a VERY read face and of course he didn't strip...

As the show ended at 11 pm we decided to go to my place and watch the fireworks from my rooftop deck. It was the first time we did that and if it hadn't been so dangerous it would have been great. The problem is that we were just on the heighth on which the fireworks explode. One time I RAN away in order not to be hit by one... so taking pics was not really an option at first as it was too dangerous. Took some later on when it slowed down a little bit but I need a new tripod for pics like that.

And Eileen - regarding the elephant baby they have the same problem again this year.

The baby didn't show up so far either.

Not quite 8 pm here ... revving up the tv and dvd player, to try out some of the games the kids got for Christmas.

That was really absorbing to follow. My kids were both into it. Although we missed the actual birth. Watching the baby was fun too! Happy New Year Andrea!

They are expecting up to 6 more new elephant babies in our Zoo. Don't think they will set up the webcam again though.

It was fun watching them....
