Female Traveling Alone In Playa - Safe?
Hi Everyone.
I was gong to travel with a couple of friends in April, but it looks like they are backing out. How safe would it be for me to travel alone? Female, 36.... What do's and don'ts can you recommend? We were staying at the Blue Parrot, but I am wondering if an all inclusive would be better than staying in town since I will be alone. I really, really don't want to do that. I am also considering the Hotel Colibri. But now I need your help. If staying in town, which hotel on the beach would you consider the safest? Thanks Muncho! Alicia |

Hi ,
I would not have any concerns being alone in Playa and you should feel comfortable and confident . Both the Blur Parrott and Colibri are smack in the middle of things and on the busy stretch of beach. You are a mere 50 yards to La Quinta which is always bustling and very safe. I would not meander way of the beaten tourist track after dark or walk the beach after dark but these are just sensible precautions anwhere. You may get the odd cat whistle or advacne - mexican men are machismo from a distance (and with beer in) but do not be afraid to see Playa on your own ... you would miss so much staying in an all inclusive. Be strong , brave and enjoy  |

Hi there,
I am leaving in two short days for my first solo trip! So far, just reading this forum has put me well at ease and I have managed to make contact with 'friendlies' all ready! Be confident and comfortable, smart and self-assured - and enjoy! Oh, and check in to the PDC card! |

AliciaCam- Please let me know how your vacation was when you get back. I am strongly considering going by myself at the beginning of May. None of my friends/family can't or do not want to take 'the best vacation EVER'. So, I am forging on alone.
I would love to hear where you choose to stay and what you did. I was in Playa last September and have been itching to get back! |
