Well, I'm back I only did about 2.5 miles on the treadmill today but I tried that HIIT thing at the end of my workout so hopefully that makes up the difference. i did a bunch of ab work, I wanna say 100 crunches about 90 oblique crunches on each side and 100 with feet up. 30 on the roman chair. Then legs and glutes. I have a feeling I might be sore tomorrow!

I don't know ya kayt707 and I don't know what kind of crunches you do so please don't take this personally
, I just want to pass along something that my most awesome trainer told me about doing crunches.....(after I bragged to her that "I did a zillion crunches today, are ya proud of me?)If you (and I don't mean "you" ) are doing crunches properly, then there is NO way you can do 100 of them. Now, I can certainly do 100 crunches, and have done that many in the past without too much effort. I see people crunching their head's off in the gym every day too. But after doing crunches my "trainers way", I can assure you that she is 100% correct - I would be dead if I did 50 of them, ok, even 30! Once she had me do "my" crunch and pointed out the things that I wasn't doing properly, I couldn't believe the difference between mine (thinking I was doing them right) and the way they really should be done to maximize each and every crunch, to isolate the upper or lower ab muscles depending on what kind of crunch you're doing (and we know there are many ways to torture ourselves with these ). The main thing she has me do is to take a deep breath and blow all the air out of my diaphram and hold tight - which forces you to contract all your ab muscles. You can still breathe in and out as you crunch, but you must keep the abs contracted. It's not the same as sucking in your gut, we've all been told to do that, or keeping your core tight, it's still different. If one REALLY concentrates on blowing that air out and keeping those muscles contracted (not just sucked in) - I promise there will be a huge difference. If you do them correctly, you really, really can't do many of them at one time, and there is absolutely no need to as a smaller amount of them is more effective than you could imagine. Just passing along some valuable info I was given and it sure has worked for me, and helped me change up a stagnant work out and really feel every crunch. I know they are making a difference now. And every time I go back, she find some kind of new crunch to sock me with...they keep getting more and more difficult. The ones she threw at me today, only had to do 10 of them, they were REALLY hard!

I use one of the machines at the gym to do them and I don't do them all in a row. I do everything in multiple sets. So like 25 regular ones, 25 on each side, 25 legs up. repeat and I take breaks in btween each set. I also have built up a lot of endurance on my stomach from doing pilates abs. Those are seriously tough and we do lots of them. trust me after each set my abs are really burning it's just give them a break and building up the burn again.
Thanks for the advice though, I do appreciate it.

Today I broke a personel record. I usually do a jump rope routine of 2 hours. Today I did it for 2 1/2 hours, eventually by the end of the summer I'll be doing it for 3 hours. That doesn't include my weights and boxing routines and swimming routine.

hah, I drink too much of it to figure out why I like it or to come up with an excuse why I like it
I do know that I had to give it up to lose the weight. We'll see how it goes.Quote:

I don't really drink that much. Usually only if I with other people who are drinking. Having two young kids I'm don't really around a lot of drinking. For me, I have fun when I drink, not that i can't have fun without it, but I've always been the happy drunk. But i just don't do it very often anymore. Ironically when I did drink alot I was really skinny. But thats because we would dance when we drank. so I was dancing for 2-3 hours 3-4 times a week. that will get you into shape!
