Alright game on. We are doing the weight loss contest at my work like we did early summer again, kinda like the Biggest Loser. I won last tiime, but unfortunately have gained most of it back, so this time I'm losing it, but not letting it come back. I think I have a little more competition this time, everyone that slacked last time seems way more motivated this time, and I probably do have the least to lose, but it is by percentage. As long as it motivates me to get to my goal I'll be happy, but winning money would be nice too!

I was looking at some history today - 4 years ago I weighed 228. Today I weigh 228 (had had to lose 6 to get there
![]() ). Since that time, I've been down to around 205 and then slowly back up.Back at it now. Taking a diabetes drug that, as a side effect, can "be supportive of weight loss". Some folks find it far easier to lose weight while taking Glucophage (metformin). I'm hoping so. Will report in occasionally. Started the week at 234.5 - weighed 228.5 this morning. |

Thanks!!
It is pretty much South Beach Diet phase 1 again. We have gotten the South Beach Quick and Easy cookbook since then. Good recipes in it. I recommend the Shrimp and Celery salad .I gained doing larger quantities of low carb food, with the occasional lunch at a pizza buffet as my higher carb guilty pleasure . |

I was approached this morning by our 'health and wellness' director asking if I was interested in sharing the story of my weight loss in the Health and Wellness newsletter.
I was flattered, but I told her I wasn't ready yet, I feel like I'm 'not there yet' if that makes sense. I haven't hit my first big goal yet and I would want to get closer to that before I went 'public' with my 'weight loss story'. It was sure nice to be asked though! ![]() |

![]() P.S. jamesblonde, we're practically neighbors! Where about in Seattle are you? I post occassionally here, unless I don't have a trip being planned to the area. That will most likely change since we'll be "regulars" after we move into our vacation casita. |

I have 25 pounds to lose!! I am well on my way though! I walked for 2 hours today with hubby & doggies. I've lost 7 pounds so far and figured out a REALLY easy way to cut 400 calories out of my day (no more small bag of sun chips with my lunch and no more 100 calorie packs 2 times per day). I've also been riding my bike ...using my indoor Mag trainer.. and walking the dogs at least 5 times during the week (minimum of 40 mins per day). Very small changes have already made a big difference. My next thing is to increase my water intake. Very happy about the changes so far!

I'm starting back tomorrow, I swear! My problem isn't weight gain, it's just flab.
I went for a complete physical the other day. I've lost 10 lbs. since August for no reason. I think it's cuz my muscles are turning to fat and it weighs less!! My blood pressure is fine and I feel fine, so no tests were ordered by the doctor. So I've gotta get back into the crunches, squats and weights for my arms. We'll see what happens. Don't wanna be flabbin' on the beach! Manana.... |

![]() Vic - hit The Gym at 16th and 1st ave - it's terrific aiight - I'm back on high protein/low carb and I forgot how great I feel when on this lifestyle. I don't miss the carbs, nor have food cravings and my appetite is non-existent. I have no idea how much I've lost (don't keep a scale or weight myself at the gym) but I did have coworker say "Carole, your butt looks smaller" - much better than a scale. It's a lifelong battle that I'll never get accustomed to. keep on keepin' on xoxox C |
