Mike's breakfast this morning was 3 strips of turkey bacon (not sure of the diet properties of it ~ but certainly a healthier choice than regular bacon), a swiss cheese (1 slice) and Egg Beaters (1/2 cup at 40 calories) omelet.

Having another serving of the chili I described last night. The serving size is 1 cup.
Had 170 cals of cheese (95 from fat, 2 grams of carbs) for a morning snack. Puts me at 24 grams of carbs for the day so far. Tonight we are going to have a romaine lettuce, tomator, avocado, bell pepper assorted other veggie salad with about 5 ounces of baked salmon on each of our salads, and some wine and mebbe a rum and diet coke or two. Having the Turkey and White bean chili from the SBD Quick and easy cookbook (P. 196, I think), except we are using black beans and chicken breasts. 260 cals, 15 net grams of carbs per serving. I did more than the tablespoon of olive oil, so we're probably up to 300-350 cals and a bit more grams of fat than the nutritional analysis says. |

We had this salad
romaine lettuce, tomato, artichoke hearts (in water), avocado, salmon, creamy dressing - I looked all the component parts up on the USDA data base. Came up to 591 calories, 39.5 grams of fat, 13 grams of carbs. Not too shabby. |

Roni, have you ever seen The Daily Plate? A tracking website for logging in all your meals. You can look up individual foods (most all brand and store brands are already listed) and you can create meals with individual items that you eat often. Or if you use a recipe and all you have is the counts for it (cals/fat/protein/carbs) you can enter that in to create a custom food. It had a bit of a learning curve for me, but then I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer. But now that most of the foods I eat regularly are on there, it's a breeze.
Just wondering since you mentioned using the USDA website. |
