My usually smart friend who lost 80 pounds several years ago....the smart way, counting calaroies and fat now wants to lose another 20. So she is on the bandwagon about this new fad diet that has you eating the same boring stuff for 30 days, taking a $150.00 a month supplement! Someone at the gym is selling it, claiming to have lost 10 pounds in a month. Maybe so. If I was eating the same boring stuff for 30 days, I would lose weight because I wouldn't look forward to eating! LOL! Why, oh why do people do this stuff!

I'm losing weight and feeling good. Mostly doing sensible, healthy eating: small portions, lots of fruits and veggies.

I've been trying to get in some kind of cardio at least 5 days a week. Walking, swimming, biking, and kayaking. The lake, for all the junk food I have to avoid, is great for keeping active.

Spinach chips! Pretty good. Lighter and sweeter than kale chips, but you really have to watch them in the oven. 10-15 minutes for baby spinach. I sprayed them with olive oil and gave them a light dust of dried basil and kosher salt.

Also, I finally found a low fat salad dressing that actually tastes good. Boathouse Farms. I've tried the french, ranch, and cesaer/parm. All really good and creamy. The first ingredient is yogurt. 2.5 grams of fat in 2 TBLS.

How many calories?

I don't think I have seen that brand here, but we do have a yogurt based dressing I have wondered about.

Edit: ohhhh. Bloom County. I miss that strip SO much! Loved it!

45 calories in 2 TBLS. The french only has 1.5 fat. I think I like the caesar/parm best. They are in the refrigerated section of my grocery story, by the lettuce and spinach.

edit: it's BOLTHOUSE farms, not boathouse.

That is a great low calorie count!

The stuff I saw was in the refrigerated section by the produce...hmmm, maybe it is that brand! It was Safeway. I will check.

And if you like blue cheese, the Blue Cheese with yogurt is to die for!

I will have to try spinach chips. I love the kale chips! We have kale in our garden but we have mountains of collards! Wonder if I could do collards chips. Hmmmmmm, worth a try.

Ooooo, those sound great! I'm going to have to look for them! I usually use Ken's; love the Lite Sweet Vidalia Onion and Lite Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette but they have a lot more calories/fat than those yogurt dressing...

Go old school and make your own! Good quality dijon mustard, vinegar of your choice and a dash of olive oil and spices/herbs. Easy, cheap and low cal.

A new oil and vinegar shop just opened up at the mall called Bumble. I got "herbes de Provence" infused olive oil. It is damn good. I made my baked kale chips with 2 teaspoons and a little kosher salt. They came out perfect!

For vinegar, I got a white balsamic with lemongrass and mint. I think I will make dressing out of that one.

Down six pounds on my healthy eating plan. Been exercising at least 6 days a week. Feeling pretty good.
