P.S. Ok I see your point.
Does the American public have the right to refuse getting into a cab driven by a Muslim? They do have a history of blowing up cars?

Which is totally different from being denied service because you have a service dog because you are blind. Here you are choosing which doctor would treat you.

Sorry, but I think, that analogies has not been clear and sufficiently simitar to help on the thread's theme, just my personal observation.

It would be illogical to eat at a Jewish place if you don´t like Kosher food to begin. Totally different from being at the airport with a bottle of wine and willing to pay a taxi driver to get home.

I don´t really agree with your final conclussions, but do agree that the cab monopolies hurt the public instead of giving any advantage. Like the cab mob in Cancun Airport, they set their prices because they have the massive power to do it, thankfully we have the ADO bus option.

The connection is tenuous at best. We have about 40,000 Somali residents, the vast majority of which came here during the civil wars in Somalia. Most Somalians living here are hard working wage earners. The percentage of bad eggs among Somalians is on par with the rest of us gringos, Hispanics and Hmong.

IMHO, the hard-core Islamists have been very quick to pick up on the ins and outs of using the media to further their cause. Also, IMHO, the metro Minneapolis/St. Paul is extremely liberal (voted 86% for Gore in 2000). This suits the Imams and is part of the reason for the Flying Imams, cabbies and the election of the first Muslim in the U.S. Congress.

If you detect a slight tilt toward the right, I'm guilty. I have seen my beautiful "City of Lakes", (like New Orleans), where I've lived 60 years under Democratic rule, go to hell. But, that's another thread.

When I started this thread, I asked if anyone else in the world has experienced this phenomenon of cabbies refusing service. So far no one has directly answered this question, so I will assume that we are the exception.

Thank you all for your valuable insights. (I honestly never thought abortion would come up!) (I'm pro-choice, BTW, go figure.)

I'd recommend extra homework for you too PDS, but in the case at hand, I've concluded that added reading would be useless. Hey, but there's always other issues to dispute uh?!

A slight tilt towards the right is not a bad thing.

I had a hard time going to sleep last night. The Muslim buyers on my house had it inspected yesterday. I got home just as they were leaving. One of them asked me if I had a dog. I said no, we did, but she died in April. Then she asked if the dog had been on the carpet. I said "no, the carpet was all replaced in October" she seemed ok about that. Then later is struck me...Dog saliva" !!!! . I freaked...oh my Gawd...that may be an issue. Well, everything is ok,,and they waived the option so we are a go.
