Best Fish I had all week was at La Tarraya & La Pescadore. La Tarraya was a great deal. I nice sized fish fillet w/ the La Tarraya special sauce which was grilled tomatoes & onions and spices served w/ white rice. They also brought out chips & salsa and we had two beers all for $95 pesos. Wish we would of found it earlier in the week. La Pescadore was more expensive but worth it. I had the special of the night seafood soup which was calamari, mussles, shrimp, fish and a small whole lobster all in a nice clear broth w/ grilled fresh bread soaking on 3 sides. It was absolutely wonderful. I think it was about 180 peso which is relatively cheap compared to what I would pay at home for somthing of that comparison. My husband had swordfish mediterranean. It was very good portion and pretty good but not even close to what I had ordered. We also had their mixed brushetta which included one with tuna, one w/ tomatoes and the last one had artichokes drizzled in olive oil, all very good. We also shared their grilled veges which were OK but not like I make at home. I was expecting red peppers, eggplant, zuchini, all grilled and then drizzled w/ balsamic. They were kinda cold not room temperature when we received them w/ not a lot of flaveor. I think total bill was $590 peso not including tip which is pretty good for the amount of food we got.

I ended up going to El Ranchero that night because the group I was with wanted to sit on the roof with the view of Cozumel. The new hotel has changed that view a little bit. Also, the grilled fish at El Ranchero was OK, but not great. Not a lot of flavor. ![]() I will try the other places mentioned in this thread this May when I go back down to Paradise. |
