Chavez's Venezuela

Hugo has decided it's time to nationalize the Telcoms and Electric in Venezuela. What a surprise!! This guy makes up songs about foreign leaders and sings them in public! Was his re-election a mandate to bring socialism to Venezuela and wherever else he can spread it? I know people in Venezuela and Columbia who are really freaked out about this guy.

And he also is shutting down the opposition newspapers and TV channels. Nothing like censorship to keep absolute control.

Names please? And are we forgetting that great picture of Don Rumsfeld doing a Monica on Saddam? (Ok maybe not quite that extreme, but damned close ).

Yes, and he's said some nasty things about my adopted second home-Mexico!
That makes him even uglier!

Cindy Sheehan, ....PDS.....Jacko...I wouldn't really call any of us part of US political scene....here I thought you were talking about real politicians.....I see now you meant it in a much, much broader sense

And another thing... I don't think Chavez wishes Bush harm anymore than he wishes Fidel a full recovery. He has staked out a niche in which he is the revolutionary leader of Latin America (convienent for him that Castro is fading) and the protector of the weak from the oppressor of the North. He needs a boogeyman to howl against and would be lost if he didn't have it. All of this of course so he can solidify personal power. The guy is a true threat to his country and to his region. And I don't know any elected official of either party in this country who says different. Unfortunately the Bush Doctrine of a military not a diplomatic view of international politics only fuels Chavez's fire and his support. We need to isolate him diplomaticaly while helping his neighbors out economically and politically. What we should have done with Cuba 40 years ago.

Since when does the definition of "far left" only include politicians. Cindy Sheehan is the face of the anti war movement, and is the heroine of the far left. Jimmy Carter certified Chavez's election (as he has with other shady characters) and has had nothing but good words to say about him. Joe Kennedy II praised Chavez as he accepted a boatload of heating oil from him. The list goes on and on. Just google his name and check out how many left wing blogs you find praising the man. The far left of the US loves this guy. I said it, and I meant it.
