Topless and Banana Hammock 'Advice'

This is too funny .....I wrote and requested an info sheet for the Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo area from a guy on a Zihua forum....he just e-mailed it to me this AM and when reading through it I came across this paragraph:

BEACHES:
First, a word of advice to ladies who like to hang out at the beach in the nude or topless: Don’t! That kind of behaviour is offensive to the locals, and if you don’t have the physique of a Playboy foldout, it’ll also be offensive to everyone else. And guys: walking around town without a shirt on is considered crude and please, please leave your “Banana Hammock” at home!
There are several beaches in the area.(....etc.)

And you guys think I am opinionated!

nope, that still doesn't do much for me....I was under the impression that topless was illegal and only tolerated due to the tourist $'s.........I liken it to tourists jumping in the San MArcos River with glass bottles and styrofoam coolers, it's just illegal...........npw the banana hammock thing, that's just wrong on 96 different levels

Yes, I think it is illegal all over...and if you go anywhere on the Pacific coast (well, except around Puerto Escondido, Jimmy will say ), it's just 'not done'. Around PDC is the only place I have really seen topless sunbathers. All those Europeans.

well, when you have the most beautiful river in the world flowing right thru the middle of town, you try and keep it that way..........and you can check my pockets when I'm on the beach in Playa and you'll find my cigarette butts there
