Tipping a Limo Driver

What do people normally tip a Limo driver at home going to the airport. For those that use this type of service. It's been quite a while since I've actually done this. Any thoughts. Thanks

We always use a limo for our vacations and we tip about 20% each way. Our limo rates this year have gone up due to fuel so we'll pay about $300. each way but the tip I have set aside will be a crisp $50.00 bill.... each way. Just because fuel went up, I'm not jacking my tip up to match it this year!

Yup and that's after dickering with them...they wanted $700.! We have a 2.5 hour drive and we have 8 people so when you split it up, it's not so bad but still not cheap either!

Splitting it up like that, it's not too bad. We pay $50 bucks each way (35 min.) and tip 20%. For a 2 week vacation, it's the only way to go. In February we'll drive ourselves.

That's insane. Why not drive your own car and park it. Has to be cheaper.

$600 total divided by 8 is $75 a person for to & from the airport thats 2.5 hours away!
Worth not having the hassle...

We usually have friends take us and pick us up but seeing that we have to be at the airport at 4am and we don't get in until midnight on the return we will drive this time and park in the park-n-fly for $8 a day. Which is not too bad. Got a coupon. We wanted to keep our friends.

We always fly out of St. Louis early in am, we have to be at the airport at 4 am. We get a motel the night before and can leave our car there for up to 2 weeks. They take us to airport and pick us up and we tip him $5 each way

Well, again, we have 8 people and all that luggage...and none of us owns a vehicle large enough to accomodate all of that so we would then have to drive multiple vehicles down to NYC. We're then talking wear/tear on our vehicles, fuel, parking costs for 11 days. Not to mention we have to leave at 2:30 AM so the limo is well worth it!! We will be able to sleep on the way if we'd like too. Just less stressful all the way around. Plus we have NO idea how to get to the airport and we don't care to learn.

Well when you explain it that way, it does make more sense for you to take the limo.
