RPR (RPDC) questions
hi all, hoping I could get some input on RPR
We are booked at EDSS after staying at Azul Beach and EDR (Casita) last year. I'm getting concerned that EDSS is having some problems with the expansion of the resort, and we're having second thoughts anyway after being on mediocre beaches the last couple times. We were originally booked @Royal Hideaway, but decided we'll wait to spend that kind of $$$$ until the beach comes back anyhoo... probably we are going to change our reservation to RPR as it looks nice since the changeover, nice beach, etc. couple questions we have are holding us back. Did the resort itself feel overly busy? And did the beach seem extremely crowded? Shoulder-to-shoulder, or is there some room to separate a little bit? From the photos it's so hard to tell We are looking at either the JS Beachfront Walk-out or JS Oceanfront, and leaning towards the former. Anybody have thoughts on one vs. the other? TIA |

Actually we are headed back to RPR for the second time. The beach is not at all crowded. At least I didn't feel crowded. Each day we were able to get a shelter with chairs and table (kind of like a palapa but with a roof). There were tons of chairs in the sun. We spent everyday at the beach and walked it daily too.
We never ever felt over crowded. Always got a seat right away at the buffet restaurant and ate at the others when we wanted to. My advise would be to wait to upgrade to oceanfront until you arrive. I think its cheaper that way rather than booking it as ocean front. Although this will not guarantee that they will have an OF room available, though. I loved the resort and the proximity to 5th. You won't be sorry. I have plenty of pics if you are interested, just PM me. |

My wife and I stayed in the room just above the room in the picture,(739) the view was absolutley amazing. It is kinda of a hike to get up to the lobby, but well worth it. We were there for our honeymoon in October. Everyone is correct, the beaches were never crowded and just wonderful. Hopefully all the constrution that was going on when we were there is competed. Have fun, wish we could go back today and get away from the snow.

I gotta agree with all thats been said here. Not crowded, no problem getting a chair, and tons of space on the beach. Pelicanos was the only restaurant that we didn't face a wait getting in to, Asiana and Marie Maria both had waiting lists, but it was later in the evening when we decided to check them out. We were in the newer wing so the ocean view was limited to what you could see by leaning over the railing but it wasn't a big deal to us.
